I thought thv was a typo for thc but you're probably right. I don't know for sure but I think the zamal is a type 4 or at least somewhere in between a type 1 and type 4. It has such a different buzz from anything else and hits a lot faster than a thai I always considered it a type 4. The ghana gold and ghanaian accra skunk are most definitely type 4.

I've always read that nigerian has some of the lowest thcv levels of african strains but it borders with ghana which IMO has the highest thcv content of anything I've come across

I also did a cross of the Ghana male to a very nice Black Widow, now this is going to be something special and I believe a excellent medicinal strain as the Ghana has a very dreamy like high that lasts for hrs......still have to test the BW, but I hear good reports.

What makes these African Sativas so special and potentially revolutionary?

Most people associate hazes with Sativas, which is accurate on a basic sense. Yet, most of these hazes have very low, if any, traces of THCV in them. And a common thread found in these African strains is that the active cannabinoid in them is THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin). Strains with THCV in them are extremely useful for patients suffering from diseases like Parkinson’s which makes them particularly relevant in the medicinal world of cannabis.

So where exactly are these hidden strains popping up?

Well, you can’t exactly pinpoint their location on a map, but these types of strains are typically discovered in either mountainous terrains or equatorial ones. A couple African countries that we can definitely say host many of these FP1’s (parental/wild types that have not been tainted because of their locations) are Macato and Ghana. Niches within these lands’ mountain, along with their high, unique altitudes, give marijuana plants in these regions UV exposures that plants can simply not receive anywhere else. And that’s one of the reasons they possess such unique qualities.

n one of Mel Frank's charts he measured the THCV and the Mexican had the highest amount and almost twice the amount of THCV of the nearest strain.

so, the RHMx phenos from destroyer, ghana and zamal look very promising. ace's malawi killer mum was tested very high also:

we havent done gas chromatograph analyses with our strains or parental plants to determine cannabinoid quantities. Past Spannabis Fair, Cannalyse team (they analyse cannabinoid quantity by light reflection) analysed many of our strains: purple haze, angola, malawi ....

Malawi mother was the strongest weed sample analysed in the whole fair by them. And the 3rd strongest overall sample, only behind 2 very concentrated hash samples. Malawi mother has tons of different cannabionoids (THC, CBD and also THCV), it's a true cannabinoid bomb.

i'd love to hear more from charlie/kaiki. he's possibly the most meticulous sincere landrace breeder. he's got fantastic well worked landrace offerings. dubi gives out a lot more info imo. between the two companies we have access to lots of options.

i liken my pollen chucking to colors and or cooking as metaphors to explain what i'm after. how many top painters use straight store bought colors? they mix up exactly what color, shade, hue, tone they want for the exact representation of what they are looking for on their palate:



in pollen chucking the attributes one is looking for are the colors. primary un-hybridized landraces to me are the primary colors. all "dutch weed" originated from landraces and evolved from there.

another metaphor is cooking. get some great ingredients and start cooking. it's fun, satisfying. throwing different landraces together is "cooking up strains from scratch".

there are not that many pure worked landrace offerings. ace and cbg to me are the best sources available.

nevil's haze, lmn's liamba, and a few other strains are legendary; experienced smokers rate "best ever". i think every experienced grower at some time has a desire to put together his own strains and see how they perform. it's lots of fun. there are groups and many individuals working on the "new grail".

meao thai, angola red, congo, hog, malawi, manga rosa, zamal, punto rojo, red haired mex.,acapulco gold, mazar i sharif, etc....

now we have access to ghana.

pure straight ghana runs or potential ingredient in hybrids.

looks like a wonderful addition.
