Im in the process of building a micro grow box out of a bedside drawers.Size will be 13inch x15inch x 22inch high.Im planning on running 100-120watts cfls vert,odour isnt an issue but working out venting will be interesting.I know i should ask on the micro grow forums but im sure theres an aussie or 2 that do these micro grows so just a question or 2.
Im really wanting to try and get a sativa in this box and have some ideas on what i can do to help control it,i plan on training it around the walls and suspect 1 may take up the entire wall space,to have a chance will i need to go 12/12 from seed?will cutting back light from 12/12,to 11/13,to 10/14 over time help "mature" the sativa to a satisfactory finish??am i just wasting my time trying to squish 1 into such a short space??i like a challenge but also dont want to get 7 weeks in and realise its not going to work,yes i know you never know to you try but has anyone here attempted this and had success??...will document this once the lights kick on...thanx for any input and yes im popping some indies as well incase i cant get it to work...

i wish you all the best...but a sativa in that area IMHO ain't gonna work, even 12/12 from seed...clones that have just rooted and flipped to 12/12 would be a better option...the NL#5 i run is a far better option...short and stocky

thats what i didnt want to hear but expected,im not really in the situation to take clones or even no anyone that grows locally to get some ,its been along time between grows and just have this urge to get going again,guess i will just risk 1 sat in there but have indies ready to take over as soon as its not happening..

I've been growing micro for two years and im fucking sick to piss of it...

I've been running indicas and mostly indy hybrids in my cabs and I can tell you from experience, Even a good indy will fill your space in a hurry.


If you choose to stick with this little cab, computer fans are good for small scale cfl ops.

Being you're in au, buy cheap pc fans from msy, get 120 mm ones, not 80 or 150. 80 are too small, 150 are too exxy/noisy.

You can power them with any computer psu... I can walk you through wiring no problem. Best thing is it's only 12 volt so you cant possibly kill yourself.

thanx for the replies all...i know i need more room but at this time its not possible.I grew plenty through the 90s indoors with a much larger space.This project is more of something to entertain myself and do once again something i love doing,its been 7 years since ive had the chance to spark up a light.Im pretty reclusive by nature and dont have access to beans or clones at all unless i order online and i cant see myself doing it even though i would love to.I was given a stack of nice local sat seeds so curiosity sees me wanting to light 1 up but i do have some old stock of indica dom hybs(8+ years old) that i will hopefully sprout to use if the sat doesnt work...all this is a bit of a chalenge and fun with hopefully a little smoke at the end

give the the indica hybs ago they would be magical i can feel it, i cant see it possible doing sativas in a 'micro cab' sick to your autos and indicas for you cab , grabbing some autos offline might be your best bet,all the best

after a long think overnight ive decided the sats i sprouted are on their way outside somewhere,a bit late i know but at least they will have no size restrictions and i will just leave them to do their thing and check them in a few months...LOL.... and i will see if i can get these old indy seeds to pop,im not sure how viable they will be as most are at least 8 years old,some are almost 20...
