Here comes the rain
with the massive rain band thats moving down through qld and into nsw,im curious to know what others do with such a large rain event and outside grows. My region is expecting up to 400mm over the next 5 days and today seen me rushing out to my babies and moving them up out of a feeder gully to higher ground, only because i grow in large pots. What precautions do others make, esp those who are growing in the ground??is it hope for the best or is there things you do to minimise the impact...

Gday russ, First good downpour for a while last night. I've only got the one half decent sized plant outside and just put her under cover
A positive thing however is the growroom is 4 degrees cooler. First time ive seen the temp under 30. Was 28.3 Good change from 33. Looking forward to the cooler weather.

I assume we are in close proximity of each other. I have several near creeks in the ground but the creeks are so dry it will take weeks of rain to fill them up and more to flood over into the gardens. This is our first good rain in 6 months or so. In the past i have been flooded out and some fell over and others were washed away completely. I find tying them to a few tall stakes helps in minor floods.

The banks are 4to5m where the lady's stand I've been through all the floods of the last 15 yrs. I think I'll be right. But i wil be watching. Most are tied up to 3 stakes minimum . And caged hole patches. I find this helps when the banks break and flood over it keeps the debris from getting to the plants.thanks for your concern. Be safe.

A mate of mine is up in north Qld. He thinks he might be flooded in for a few days. Reckons that'll suit him fine- has a lot of beers n bongs to catch up with!

Send some of that rain down south OZ way, we need it bad and it would help put out all those fracking fires in NSW and Vic
