Satori and Kalichakra Questions
Dear Mandala Mike,
I am trying to choose between your Satori and your Kalichakra, and this doesn't seem like a very easy choice. Unfortunately I would have to be growing with 200-250 watts of CFL's, which I know is not very ideal but that's just the way it goes. I am wondering if the Satori can do well in lower light environments, and well I mean 1-2 ounces, maybe, with the 200-250 watts once everything is dialed in. Also, what are the odor levels like with the Satori as well as the Kalichakra, as it would also be a stealth grow but would have a carbon filter, although, I wouldn't want someone who knows the smell of herb to be able to detect it. Lastly, if I was to grow under the CFL's, do you know how much they would stretch, as I would have probably around 2 feet of plant room, from the top of the soil to the maximum height they could be. I know that I am not so precise as I don't have a box or anything yet made up but am planning so when I am able to put things into motion I can get things going without worrying the important things. The reason I really would like to use the Satori is I love Sativas and the low anxiety and anti-depression sound very much what I would like. On the other hand I like that the Kalichakra has a slow build-up so it will have more of the same effect each time. Thank you very much for your help and if you need more information to help me please ask, Sincerely, LimeyGreen Last edited by Limeygreen; 03-26-2006 at 07:38 AM.. |

Dear LimeyGreen,
If I recall correctly the CLF's are quite low in lumens... how many lumens will you have with your lamps compared to sodium vapour (250W HPS = 28,500 lumens)? You definately have to be realistic about yield in a low wattage grow. Both strains could deliver an ounce or more per plant, but certainly 2 oz. is over the mark in a regular 100 day cycle. Kalichakra has been tested quite a lot in low watt grows and she has performed remarkably well with great resin output and satisfactory yield. In fact, one grow was completed recently, and I can try to get hold of some more infos and perhaps pics on that one. For Satori I haven't seen any such grow yet except under 250W HPS, which turned out great in terms of yield and resin...but the difference in light intensity between CFL and HPS is quite high. Odor on both is medium range and it depends on how many plants you have. They are not "stinkers", but obviously have a certain level of aroma as can be expected from quality cannabis. A carbon filter should take care of the fans. If someone is standing in your grow room they will smell the herb...but you probably wouldn't want anyone get that far. *lol* You should put them into flowering at 8-10 inches and won't get any height problems. Kalichakra can also be helpful as anti-depressant. Grow on, Mike

Mandala Mike,
Thank you very much for your help. I guess I have some playing around to do then and see what I can do in aspects of light. As for the 250 watts of HPS, how was the yield and how many plants would you say could be put under such a lamp without it hindering plant growth? Although not contrained to these two strains, do any of your strains flower when they get rootbound, say if outdoors? Sincerley, LimeyGreen Last edited by Limeygreen; 03-27-2006 at 04:34 PM.. |

ouuu, Mandala mike, i'm very interested in some info about the satori, as I just recieved a freebee 5pack, thank you VERY much.. just some info, I live at around 43N, could think work outdoors for me? season from mid may until early oct.. or would this be better in my cab? This is the first thread i came across with my search,so maybe i'll answer my own questions.. but any info from the breeder would of course be much appreciated

This should be the photo from her so you can see for yourself. The plant was chopped at 74 days (grower didn't have time to cut her a bit sooner and the plant didn't mind either...) 2. They probably flower if nutes are too low... which can be a result from being rootbound. The plant get's the message that if it doesn't hurry and flower (to become viable for pollination) it's going to starve beforehand! Grow on, Mike

They love the outdoors and 43N should be fine, but Satori doesn't finish until mid October. So if you have hail, snow or thunderstorms around this time - watch out and harvest early or start her indoors. Wishing you a great grow, Mike
