Hey all- time for jammies '13 annual grow starring cannaventure's cookie wreck. these will be grown in 5 gallon individual dwc buckets under a 1k (mh in veg, hps in flower). i use rain water (too cheap for an ro unit), calmag, ionic grow, bloom, boost, protekt silica and subculture B bennies. usually vegg to 18-22" or preflower depending on strain and stretch. just put the beans in a shot glass for a 12 hr soak then into park's biosponges. hope to post sprout pics in a day or so

There must be a doctor in the house who can treat your terrible condition!!!

It sounds like you have your system dialed in, but how much silica are you using to get
the rain water + nutrients into the proper pH range? Tap water has something in it that
"buffers" the pH, which can be helpful in some cases. I am always curious about pH.

hey there guineapig- thanks for stoppin by. kindda boring in the beginning. just started using silica last year as a "ph up". my rainwater is around 5.5ish, then with nutes it ends up 4ish. so about 2-3cc's of silica in a 5 gallon bucket bring the ph up to 5.8. i was real surprised at the thickness of the main stem and branches. usually with dwc the main stem is usually nothing more than a thin drinking straw.

welcome Kant- happy to have another pro in the front seats. i've been impressed with some of your recent flower pics. i've had a "botanical woody" for gsc for awhile and CV said that the gsc was dominant in this cross. currently i'm smokin some grateful casey from last years grow that is more trainwreck dominant. so even if this cross is tw dominant- that's not a bad thing

Hey jammie, yea I guess you can say i'm a CookieHead now also. Hope to get some fem. cj strain this year to try out (if the Grateful casey comes back i'm snagging). Also thanks for the kinds words, I was letting the plants do all the real work. I really don't feel like a "pro" grower, i'm actually very disappointed in myself and grows of late (you have to be your own toughest critic). A couple of bumps in the road and I lost focus for awhile but being here does keep me somewhat centered. This new year is a new start for me and I will be doing things different and better. Time to show ICMag what these old hands and a focused mind can do

. All the "victims" will walk away unscathed but in a different state of awareness. Then we'll need to organize a "high and hungry" march to get snacks. Take care 1
