Magnesium Defeciency???? Need Help
So this problem has started at the bottom, one side of the plant. Then moved all around and is now working it's way up. The plant is in a Waterfarm. PH stays at 6.0. I use Pureblend Pro, LK, Calmag, hydroplex. I was using tap water, but I have very hard water. White calcium deposits gets caked on my waterfarm ring. Now i use store bought water and I still use cal mag, but the problem isn't getting any better. I thought maybe the calcium was locking out the magnesium, which I still think was happening. I even tried epsom foliar sprays once a day. I thought using different water would help, but I don't think it is helping. Air Temps stay around 68 night and day, revervoir temp the same. Is it possible that I wasn't using enough calmag cause I have a Very Mag. hungry plant?(5ml per gallon) Last res change I did 15ML calmag for 2gallons. Overall the plant is healthy and lush. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

when this started did the color of the leaves the whitish on the edges was they different colors and then changed to this color or was they always the color thy are now on the edges?
also what lighting are you using and what ppm's and ph and water temps are your system at? how many plants and what strain and how many affected if more than one but i will say this, that is not a magnseium deficiency nor calcium

well I borrowed a PPM meter today and tested my reservoir, it was at 1875. Way too concentrated. So i think this is a toxicity problem. The plant is too big for a water farm so it's drinking all the water and leaving a lot of the nutes. So i'm gonna back off on the nutes to maybe half strength or a little less untill they recuperate. Thanks for the input. if it doesn't get better I'll be back.

TokenRings lol u have already identified the problem before I could post that that is what it looks like.
Definetely not a magnesium or calcium deficiency Very nice looking plants though.

Yep you figured it out.
Check the PPM of your water or tap water. I had a similar problem when I first started. Thought it was nute deficient. Turned out it was nute lockup because my PPM was damn near 2000. Was using tap water that had a starting ppm of almost 500. Switched to RO water bought at a store and cleared right up. (Also fixed my PH flux as well which also cause lockup) |
