It'll work in a pinch, but you'd really need to watch it close, because any condensation will go right back onto your buds, significantly increasing the chance for mold.

Go ahead and spend $2 at walmart and get some jars.

2Krazy-

Yes it will work just fine and from a mold perspective it is exactly the same IMHO. Just burp the a like you would a jar for the first week. I use both and actually found I like the ziplocks better latel since I think it gives you a better aroma. When I seal them up I leave a little space open and suck the air out with my mouth like a vacuum sealer.

Ive never understood the whole cure in glass thing either. I mean, you can get a pretty good cure in a couple of months, sure 6 or 12 is better, but the amount of transfer of gasses/moisture/whateveritis that occurs through the plastic of a freezer ziploc has got to be miniscule.

In my mind, the purpose of the container is to keep the bud at the right humidity level for the months that you are curing. And one might imaging plastic could impart a taste to the bud, but Ive never heard that it did.

If there was an issue with ziplocs, I would think that it would be you might need to watch closer for changes in the dryness of your curing bud, ie- it might get too dry if the closed ziploc was kept in a too dry room and it might moisten up if kept in a moist environment. Im sure the ziplocs can allow some transfer that glass wouldn't.

But unless someone can explain a better reason why glass is better than plastic, then I have to believe they are the same over a couple of month span, but maybe watch the dryness of the curing bud closer in ziplocs.

By FAR the biggest reason to me for using jars instead of Zips is that when u have bud in a zip and u handle the zip...you are also handling your bud in a sense (its def. rougher on the buds). that may not matter to some, but to me it does.

also jars conceal the odor WAY better.

plus...its MUCH more "classy" to pull your homegrown out of a jar than a zip

and they are "tried and true"...no need to play Mr. R&D when u know the jar cure works.

I love jars...I have a zillion sizes I keep all of them.... but I cure in the Mason jars....and I have little baby food jars and other smaller sizes for on the go stash.

well take a ziplock bag and squeeze it, most times you can squeeze the air out of it..

...seal those jars
