Unhappy Hanging on by a thread.. Update!

Grrr.. Ok so they have all taken a beating the last week.. between temps dipping into the 50's lights off and me struggling to keep lights on temps above 70F and RH keeps bouncing between 30-40% due to this weather..

This also has to be the worst batch of happy frog soil I have bought.. the quality has deff. gone down over the years, it's all over the place.. I will prob. switch back to ss#4 next round - less problems... I will be giving them plain water the next 2 waterings and backing off the nutrients some to give them time to recover w/o additional stress.

Thankfully they are recovering and the new growth is taking off again..I gave in and just raised the wattage on my light to 600w from 400w(wayyy cheaper then running a heater) and the temps are back @ 76F and I also just cut out the inline fan during lights off to keep it from dipping too low.. I opened a few more vent flaps to help keep the air flow moving.. I will also be purchasing a humidifier tom. to help keep the RH in check.

- Quick question (?) - What is the main difference between Vic High's killer queen and KQR?.. which of the 2 is essentially better in your opinion? I have never seen or tried either & I have read contradicting things over the past month.. so I'm a bit confused.. anyways thanks in advance for any input.

On a good note, I see my probation officer tom. and won't have to see her again till april(report by mail every other month).. YAY!! which means another month of smoking for me before I have to stop for a month again to clean up lol.. I'm almost down to only a year left out of 2 come april.. pretty happy about that

Here's a few pics I snapped earlier..they were pissed off and stalled for a few days.. you can see the twisted damaged bottom growth and the recovered happy new growth :

Group shot :

They look fine man. If lights out temps are a problem you could always leave the light on 24/7.

Never had original KQ. The main difference is the parents where flipped. Where as the original was g13xc99, the redux is c99xg13. Of course different versions of both plants were used as well. Hth.

Hey third thanks for that info.. clears up a few things

yea I might have to switch back to 24/0.. I try and save a few bucks when possible but until the heater is fixed in this house and the thermostat stops resetting to 62F causing it to get real cold in this basement not much of a choice .. I'll just take it off the timer for now.. usually temps are not a problem in the winter but have been for a couple weeks now.. you should of seen them a few days ago.. they deff. were not happy.. pretty pale green and downwards leaf canoeing like crazy but they have grown out of it now.

Can't really tell what the tent is sitting on but if it's on bare concrete you might want to raise the pots up off the ground.

Maybe cut a 2x4 into square chunks or something just to get em up off the cold floor.

May or may not pertain to your situation. Just a thought.

I think the cold has been a problem for alot of people this year for some reason . not sure why so much this year compared to others . but i've had MAJOR problems with seedlings this year . out of 65 seeds i've gotten 7 plants to live .
yours are looking great Deoxy !!!!
like 3rd suggested ... leave them under 24 hrs of light . that will help keep the temps up for now .
lookin great brother !!!

Hey DeoXy, maybe I can help ya with your heat problem. Correct me if I'm wrong but your saying your tstat sets back to 62 after you turn it up? Is it a programmable tstat? There should be a reset button you can push and reset to factory settings. Then you should be able to set a temp and it will hold that till you change it. You may have to use a paper clip to push the button. If its not a programmable you need a new 1.

Hey third.. it's actually mock stone tiles over concrete..it's a bit cool to the touch but nothing too cold.. gonna take your advice and put a wood board or thick cardboard wrapped in a thick reflective material I got left over as a safety measure just to eliminate the possibility of probs and get them up off the tent floor... thanks for the suggestion bro!

hey dan.. I hear ya bro.. here I am thinking cool I'm gonna have a smooth run right out of the gates this winter and take full advantage of not having to run any kind of cooling and it's proving to be just as much of a struggle lol.. wish you luck on your 7 plants alive and any new seeds you start.. sucks losing anything tbh.. especially pricy seeds...

Thank you both for the suggestion!, I went ahead and just removed the timer for now.. and got a humidifier up n running in the tent.. should all help hopefully lol

Hey Galahad.. thanks for pointing this out, didn't think about that.. it's weird cuz it doesn't always do it.. just randomly resets to 62F from 68-70F depending on what its set on and it happens in the middle of the night on some nights not all.. and yes your right its a digi one.. cheap 8+ year old one that uses AA batteries.. I looked at it and can't seem to find a reset of any kind.. going to recheck it tonight before I lay down once more in case its real small and I missed it.. if not I will just replace it.. not the first time I have had a tstat go bad on me.. the heater was just serviced a couple months ago so its in good shape.
