I will eather be getting the Adoby creative suite 6 design standard OR the Adoby photoshop CS6 Extended.

Well, what is it you want to do? Because what programs you get depends entirely on that. Only get the creative suite if you're going to be using most of the programs in it, cuz that shit's expensive. I personally use Adobe Photoshop CS4, and I love it and haven't yet felt the need to upgrade.

Of course, there is always GIMP, the free, open-source photo-imaging option. I've used it before (long time ago), and I was impressed with it from what I remember.
