Is this normal or am I just being impatient?

This is royal air tracking site

Your item, posted on 18/12/12 with reference XXXXXXXXXXXXX has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in CANADA.

Canada posts website says

Number cannot be found.

I know with the holidays it would be slow but my concern is canada post has no record of it at all. Is this normal?

don't pay attention to the tracking. i have had things show up in the mailbox that were suppose to still be on the other side of the planet.

i don't think the communication is very good between the different postal systems

hiya staffie,,if you are sending from the uk to canada,,it could take longer this time of the year also check your entering the correct tracker number, as so easy to put wrong details in,imo,, . i post to can and us on a regular basis and can take a week to 2wks and on very rare occasions even longer,,so it dont seem to long at the moment,,i would wait and see how it goes over the next week,,good luck,,,s2

Thanx for replies guys and thinman for the PM. Im not worried about how lo g it is taking at the moment , its only been a few days. My thing is Canada Post doesn't have any record of it. When I sent money order that way, as soon as it was processed here Royail mail had been "advised" about package on its site. Oh well hopefully I'm just worried about nothing. Can't wait to get my BOG.

you receive tracking details just through the postal service it was sent with. even if canada post will update on it, you'll not find your tracking code on their site, they just send updates to their parteners, so you need to check just the site from which you got details before. if no update is posted, then maybe they don't update after the package has left their hands and got to the other carrier.

one chinese site i had sent regular trackings ,but we sorta laughed it off, bit like following backward flying racing pigeon. ya cant make it get to ya any faster, sit back relax take a toke.

mail is always a lot slower at this time of year
and the Uk is currently having a series of heavy rain & flooding that has blocked major transport routes
and as it was posted on the 18th it would be at least the 20th before it got to Canada and its now the weekend
so you just have to be patient

Well just checked royal mail tracking site and it now says its in Canada
So it should be any day now. Still no tracking on canada post site and doesnt look like it will ever be. Sorry for being impatient but I just recently moved across country and can't find anything decent. I had to give away all my moms before I moved. So I'm a little on edge these days and just want some killer beans. Thanx again to all that replied and happy holidays to everyone. Thanx.
