If you use 2 out of these 3, you may have sludge in your reservoir: silica, chitosan, fulvic acid.

Only Ornamental could probably enlighten us why, but in the mean time, don't do it!

I am really digging chitosan. I use it at .5 g./4L for a 125 ppm foliar. I have been using 1 g./gallon for ~290 ppm as a drench. I like to hit them a week before flip and the week before using a bud hardener. No loss in yeild and the frostiest nugs I have seen!

Chitosan is a positively charged polymer whilst fulvic acid has several negative charges and hence the two interact and precipitate. It's a common incompatibility. What silica does depends on the used form but it tends to precipitate with quite a few things.

We should rename Only Ornamental Candyman. He always shows up when you say his name. I just hope you don't have a hook for a hand!

Anecdotally, I am showing a yield decrease if I go over ~500 ppm for drench. It's the frostiest stuff I've ever seen, but I think there is a ceiling to the benefits of adding more chitosan.

Only if you say his name three times in a row while dancing counter-clock wise around a bowel .

Thanks for sharing your observations. I was always rather sceptic regarding those publications which didn't show a plateau or some sort of trade-off. Any other stimulant either stimulates growth or defence (aka 'frost' if you like) but not both such as, allegedly, chitosan.

EDIT: Shit, we just realised that we spoke of him in third person. Something's wrong with us/me/him LoL.

Are there any interactions with chitosan and various forms of pH up and down?

How about hypochlorous acid?

Only if you use way too much pH up... but then your plants are screwed anyway.
Citric and phytic acid might cause gelling at higher concentrations of acid and chitosan.
