First off, let's start this by saying EAST COAST ALL DAY!!

Now let me thank Dank.Frank and Phillty and everyone else who contributed in making these seeds and giving me the chance to run these awesome genetics!


So I managed to snag a pack of Carolina Blue x Digiberry Bx1 and a pack of BKGK Bx1 when they were relisted. Someone stole that Purple Kush mix pack right out from under me!!

Either way I germed 2 CBxDB Bx1 and 1 BKGK Bx1 due to space restrictions, but I may be popping more soon.

After they germed I put them into a soil mix consisting of... Lambert Sphagnum Peat moss, Coast of Maine Lobster Compost, and some Perlite.

My plan is to put these straight under 12/12 to determine sex. Reveg them to take clones and then start perpetual as usual.

Once they have been sexed I will transplant into an ammended soil mix that is composting right now...

The soil mix they will be going into is the same base mix from above, ammended with some DE, Buffaloam Compost, and KIS Organics Nutrient Pack which covers just about every ammendment you could think of.

When Dank.Frank releases his NSPB I will be all over that.

Anyway, so far 1 CBxDB Bx1 has popped above soil, still waiting on the other CBxDB Bx1 and the lone BKGK Bx1. But all is well, I did some snooping under the dirt this morning and they are on their way!

I have 2 cbxdb started as well. They are on day 7.

I am very interested to hear you take the seedlings right
into 12/12 to sex them. How many days before you move
them into 12/12? I usually wait until I can take a cutting,
then take that cutting into 12/12 to determine sex. The whole process of planting seed, waiting for it to grow big enough to grab cutting, then sexing cutting can take between 5-7 weeks, only to find you don't have a female(I currently don't have room to keep males).

So, if there is a way to cut down that waiting time between seedling and finding out sex, I am all ears. Also, how long does it take for the the plant to get back to Veg mode after sex has been determined? Or do you reveg AFTER you have harvested most of the plant?

seymourbud, I am starting them out 12/12 start from seed. the day the popped above the soil they were on 12/12. From my understanding, cannabis goes through its own natural 2 week veg cycle. It's like it almost knows that it isn't big enough to support it's buds yet lol.

Your method seems perfectly acceptable, but, as you said time can be an issue, as well as space. I totally understand where you are coming from there...

I've never done this but i've read that you can take a clone, place it in a cup of water or whatever and throw it under 12/12 to determine sex. It doesn't have to be rooted supposedly. You could try that or you could deal with the waiting game lol.

If I were you, you said there are about a week old. throw them into 12/12 now and in about 2 weeks you will know sex, by that time hopefully it will have gone through some stretch and you can take a clone and flower out the original from seed plant, then save the clone as a potential mother.

There's many options to choose from. Either way I'm sure you'll be fine. Just make sure you take clones.

Reveg time totally depends on the plant. Ive got a Resin Hessassin that was flowered the same time as a blue sat 2.2. they were both under horrible conditions and i decided there was no point in flowering further, might as well try to save them for a reveg. the Resin Hessassin has had about 50 clones taken since then and the Blue Sat 2.2 hasn't even began putting off normal leaf sets again.

Id say Reveg is probably alot easier if you dont harvest any of the plant though. Thats why I was going to determine sex, reveg, take clones, root clones, flower clones, keep original for mother. But that's just because I have no deadline to harvest these and my method of growing, perpetual SOG is best suited for very small rooted clones and not plants that have had multiple clones taken from it.

Lol that was kind of confusing but hopefully that helps. You will be fine either way!

Thanks for the in-depth explanation SS. I guess I will stick to my original process with these cbxdb seedlings, and let them veg a few weeks in order to produce a suitable cuttings that can be sexed.

I did start another seed at the same time, trying to add some variety. It is from Kabookie's gear called Eskimo Joe. The lineage is as follows: Sagarmatha Seeds Matanuska Tundra (f) RVL Granddaddy Purple x Sugar Cane Kush (m). I am thinking that this might be the test case for me, and it will be sent to 12/12 at the start of 2 weeks, and after sex is determined, brought back out to be reveged or have a cutting taken to be reveged.
