I seriously doubt it is made in the U.S. And this ad screams cheap Chinese. Is it a 300 or 360w? Its also almost 2 years old in design. I would have passed, but you should do alright in a 2x2 area.

Sorry there brother but I have to agree with Phycho on this one.....well all except the cheap part............but yeah, the advertising is way over the top.

If you really want to know how many watts it is, put it on a kill-a-watt or any other wattage draw tester

There is no way of the face of this planet that a 300W LED will outgrow a 1000W HID. I use LEDs and so does Phycho. I can't speak for him but I know from experience that it's just not true.

That is the biggest problem with advertisement in the LED field. The fact that they fucking lie so much.!!!!!

Anyway, you wanted to know.......:-)

Good Luck

Thanks for the 2 cent guys... Seemed a little over the top to me as well.. the newest model from 2011 ? CHA.. lol. Trusting my gut/ignoring my brain and the price being right made me buy one...
Showed up in 4 days out of texas. Most likely a warehouse full
Of Chinese made LED's. Yet im hopping U.S. made with cheap
Mexican labor.. lol...

What made me pick it up were the 6 fans on the back.
I have looked at many pic/post of 300w LED grows and buys and noticed
The lights most complained about as weak. Had 2 fans and the ones people payed bank for and loved had 4-6 fans...

Funny how we convince ourselves one way or another to get what we want...lol... Anyways... It turned on and looks great... It feels
Hefty and sturdy.. so to me thats a good sign as cheap usually is lite and flimsy... again making myself feel good here...
Well either way its mine now..lol. I will be posting the grow once
I start so well just have to see whats what...
I will need to see what kind of lumens she kicks out and find a friend with a kill a watt meter as I would love to see if its pulling
225W or 360w...

Guess time will tell... wheeee...
Thanks again and any thoughts are welcome...

I just had ta know what kinda power this thing has.

Went out and got a kill-A-watt reader.

Turns out she runs 290w-295w just turned on.
Settles at 288w within a minute and stays
Ad said 300w pulling 365w. Close enough for the penny's I paid for it....

New ta LEDs here.

Would this be normal for 300w LED's ?

Should I take this as a good sign ?

Also says veg/flower light. Way to much reds for veg and no switch so looks like flower only.

I'll test her out on a little scrog. See whats up..

Lol.. Wecome aboard bro... I did the CFLs last year. I ran around 900 real watts and grew or screwed lol from 6 foot SSH to SCROG bla bla bla.

CFLs at the amount needed to flower more than micro grows will produce mass heat lose all cost savings on electricity (Due to # of bulbs to cover a tall plant with light) then produce none dence buds.

Hence my leaning towards LED's...

IME LED should draw 1/2 to 2/3 of stated wattage. LED are not meant to be driven at full capacity. from what i understand its something along the lines of diminished returns. you can pump more power into them but it doesnt go toward making light, only more heat. heat kills LED's. thats probably why your units has thirteen thousand fans on it lol. could also be why the wattage draw is high but those little fans dont draw too much. idk, im still a newcomer to the scene but i read A LOT every day. i wish i read my school work this much.......... i would do great haha.

i bought a supposed 145w unit with 90w draw and it was only pulling 38w. i sent them back and went legit. my new ones are still in the mail

LED should be used at designed power with proper heat dissipation. Most of the commercial LED lights does not provide adequate cooling for LEDs so they are driven to a lower current (reducing the light flux) , but this don't mean really a longer life or better performance. There are also cases when LEDs are driven at maximum power with improper heat sink and over sized fans, but this can cause premature dead of the fixture.

If the heat sink feels just warmer at the touch (and not hot) it's ok.
