So far, at least in Colo., the only apparent business that seems to be ongoing. Is the Grower's supply store. Well I guess we could add 'smoke shop' to that one, as well.
The Dispensaries are dong well at the moment, but they have to grow a certain percentage of the product they sell. Kind of like the 'farmer' has to also own and operate a grocery store?.... 'farmer's market'. Now that we've passed the 'recreational use' (Amendment 64), what will the future of the Large Grow/Dispensaries look like. Also there is supposedly a Large amount of dollars involved for licensing, security, etc... If you are selling lights, pumps, controllers, etc,, the permitting would be much less. A simple sales tax form only? If, and that's a big IF, we are allowed to 'grow your own', for personal use. The 'Grow Store' is still needed. As is the Smoke Shop, i.e. glass, papers, pipes, vaporizers. etc. All of which are consumables... after a fashion anyway. I think this spectrum makes the most business sense, long term, because of the probability that the market may/will change drastically, in the near future. And NO one seems to have a crystal ball that isn't clouded. JM$.02, and probably worth the paper it's not printed on! |

bulk organic super soil supplier
I think there is plenty of market left in the organic soil mix market that has a HUGE amount of new customers daily as many growers start with soil soil less compared to hydro. With the much larger organic soil push and being able to give it nothing but water and then feed later with amendments like teas ( which could also be produced ) and it being all organic etc. I would obviously name it something other than super soil BUT fox farms needs some competition as does many of the big box grow suppliers.

The time will come when the states will issue licenses solely for growroom building. Anything to grow government bigger & pick up those additional license fees ![]() I can see contractors building growrooms as a profitable sideline, but for now getting enough clients in one local area to sustain a business is going to be a tough nut to crack. The secret to a profitable construction business is to be very large or very small. Most of the residential competition is in the middle at jobs of 20K to $100K The industry as a whole started to change in the 50's when it took 10 years to become a real carpenter. Most residential apprentices learned to build from the ground up, picking up all of the skills along the way. Now everything is specialized & everyone is a specialist & stick building is quickly becoming a thing of the past.
