New Cannabis Business
If you were starting a Cannabis related business what would it be? Seedbank? Seems to be loads of seedbanks exhibiting at Spannabis. Is the Cannabis market expanding, what opportunities are there? Im just looking for ideas tbh, but I have an idea of a surrogate grow firm which grows plants legally for people who cannot grow themselves....Love to hear from business minded Icmagers with their thoughts on these questions...?

Sounds kinda like what caretakers do in medical states, no? Another thing to think about when it comes to the surrogate grow, what do you do when 20 different clients want 20 different strains? Seems like a lot of hassle to try to dial each and every one of those strains in. As we all know efficiency is a big part of maintaining a successful business and that does not seem too efficient to me. Just something to think about.

There are several industries related to growing cannabis. One could become a builder of very efficient grow rooms for clients. One could consult on grow practices and act as a trouble shooter in grow rooms. One could get into insuring against crop failure. I believe the possibilities are endless

Yeah, I think grow room building is a good business to get into. Not everyone is comfortable running wire/building walls, nor does everyone know exactly what will be needed for a given setup. If I lived in a medical/recreational state, this is what I would do.

Your idea was tried in Michigan. It did not work out.. At the time. Dude rented out rooms in one warehouse. 16 rooms. With equipment installed, and grew for the patients. Feds shut him down. He got through 1.5 runs.

Here in the SF Bay Area I regularly see adds on Craigslist for carpenters/electricians willing to build your room.
Even in this market contractors licensed or not still aren't cheap. Best bet is to learn to do it yourself & I'm not talking about a class at Home Depot, but it might be ok for just the basics. Cheers

Well considering that pots legal in Colorado and Washington I would be preparing to open a store that caters to Med patients as well as the recreational smoker. I would sell full range of product from weed , seeds, clones, as well as hash and oils. I would also carry full range of grow equipment.
