Yeah it looks so bad you have to wonder what is happening to the ocean? How does this whole thing effect the whole ocean? Why we are not shutting down nuclear plants everywhere is beyond me.BTW Coal is not the answer to all our problems either . Coal creats acid rain . I have yet to see any real NEWS about Fukushima and I really don't care about the source as much as I care about the dipiction of this scene. Of-course I want to know what this means . In other words are we going to lose our whole ocean over this? Are we going to lose everything in the sea? These are questions I can't help but ask headband 707

the model depicted "IS NOT A REPRESENTATION OF THE RADIOACTIVE PLUME CONCENTRATION." Its just a model of ocean currents and likely dispersal rates of radiation from the Fukushima site.

We dont know the actual concentration levels its almost impossible to accurately depict but "monitoring by TEPCO showed concentration of radioactive Iodine and Cesium higher than the legal limit during the next two months following the event."

No we aren't going to lose the ocean over this or all life in the sea, but the full gravity of this event wont be understood for decades as we study how the radiation moves through the oceans food chain and in what concentration.

Its bad news no matter how u slice it, I just dont like sites that dumb down an issue in order to generate outrage without understanding...
