Orange Rhino festivus freebie grow
Got a ten pack of these as freebies with a boutique order i made in August . After i found a thread telling me what the genetics were ... i decided to pop all 10 beans . 8/19 i had 9 above soil in cups of coco . After a couple died & the males showed themselves ... i wound up with 4 nice females . They went into flower today ... exactly 90 days from the day they popped their heads out of the coco . they spent the last 3 weeks under a 250 watt MH in 2 gallon pots of coco . before that they were under my T5 rack in 1 gallon pots till i sexed them . so they've had a pretty good veg time . I'm estimating they're about 2 1/2 feet off the floor .
here they are just sprouted  seems i don't have any pics of them in the 1 gallon pots ... but i took pics as i transplanted them into the 2 gallon .    The growth structure on these look very similar so far so i won't get into every pic . i did take 2 cuts off each one for keeping a mom if i decide to keep 1 or 2 .  next page is flowering .

Today is 11/19 First day of flower for all 4 plants . they sit in a 3 x 3 flood tray on the floor . they're fed from an 18 gallon rez by a 250gph pump ... 1/2" lines to 2 1/4" drippers per pot . the runoff is sucked out of the tray everynight with a bucket head vac .2 gallon pots of canna coco DTW using HR's veg&bloom at different strengths for different stage plants mixed in RO/DI water .
the room is in an attic with slanted cielings so my headroom is kinda limited . the flower room is basicly 4 x 8 with 6 foot peak cieling slanted down to a 4 foot back wall (you'll see ) i have 3 600 watt hortiluxes powered by digital ballasts all in 27" cooltubes butted together & a 6" ventilation system blowing through the lights . Ok enough babble ..... time for some plant pics . sorry for the yellow pics ... i suck at photography ... as you'll see . the ladies are all staked up & ready to go ... i hope the stretch isn't to bad or i'll be bending branches down soon .     Well ..... thats it for day one . i'll be back with updates & hopefully better pics after the new camera gets here . Thanx for lookin in & any comments ... good or bad . Hey dansbuds, thanks for documenting your Orange Rhino grow here. That looks like a really tight set up you've got going. I think you'll be alright on the height bro, the o/r stays pretty compact.

 Seed Buyers Beware! Don't waste your money on hype. If you have to buy multiple seed packs to find that "keeper", you're getting ripped off. Every female in a pack of seeds should be a keeper! We've been led to believe that lots of variation in a cross is a good thing, because some vendors would rather you buy several packs of their gear, instead of them actually doing the selections to fix that nag champa or golden clit trait themselves. For hobby growers, pheno hunting is fun. But mono-croppers who grow to pay the bills prefer a consistent product that regularly delivers the desired trait package. |
