Downward curling leaves
I have a plant that has downward curling leaves on the top portion. I am currently in week 4 of veg with nutes at approx 1200 ppm. I had them at 750 ppm in week 3 and 550 in week 2. It is a hydro setup under a 400 hps going 18 hours a day. I am using reverse osmosis water. The temp with the light on are usually about 85 or so. I am running co2 about half the time. The plants are about 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall.
I am using a brand of stuff called grow more which is supposed to be like the gh flora series. Any suggestions. |

looks like your nutes are too strong and the temps are a little high for hydro.

I've found out your symptoms of clawed leaves can happen from three things
1)ph 2) over ferting 3) under ferting looks like your case may be overferting |

I'm starting to think so because i didn't notice it before adding more nutes.

could this be a lack of humidity? The room feels not humid at all.

That's a surplus of Nitrogen. You've got The Claw for sure. I'd be skeptical about things that are "Supposed to Be Like"... I have never heard of Grow More. Yeah 85 is about 10 degrees higher than you want it too. 450 PPM is kind of a big jump. Flush those puppies for a few days and try a weaker solution.

yikes
![]() 1200 ppm already...whoa nelly slow down on the strength bumps, the kids arent ready yet. Important question... If its supposed to be the same as gh flora, are you mixing the micro into the water first, then the grow, then bloom (like gh flora) ? If not, then that would explain why they look like they're suffering some lockouts. What ratio are you running btw? 321 (g,m,b) ? Last edited by 10k; 03-21-2006 at 12:42 PM.. |

How are you checking your c02 levels???? I just had a problem with a c02 overdose and it caused the same conditions that you have going on. The claw can also be caused due to poor air quality and in your case I'm willing to bet it is way too much c02. Just my .02

On the info sheet I have, it doesn't say anything about mixing the micro first, then grow and then bloom. I was doing it grow, bloom and then micro. So that does make a difference? It really does look like there are some lockouts on my plants based on what I have seen so far. It looks like calcium and magnesium have been locked out so far. Also, I'll back on the nutes a bit. |
