^^great idea with highland mex. Think a lot of chimera strains would work well. Fighting buddah. Hawaiian spice. African jack. Ace seeds for sativas. Cannabiogen as well. Panama!! Classic seeds has a mexican hybrid I think it was.... Malawi!!! Golden tiger!!! Congo bx called back to the congo. Think ace has got it or richard williams who was the creator anyway... good potential with your inbreed. Seems ibl will be dom over a polyhybrid which is what you want I assume....

I grow Barney's Acapulco Gold. They don't claim that it's the genuine article, just that it's from Central American genetics, and that it is an attempt to recreate AG. I never had AG back when that I know of.

The pheno of Barney's AG that I have is great smoke and produces well. Up, but no teeth grinding. A favorite in my circle. We don't call it AG, cuz it's not. I named it Tikal.

I believe that AG and a lot of the others from the 70's have been hybridized out of existence. Good luck. -granger

I got to smoke some beautiful Acapulco Gold at last years Emerald Cup. Grown outdoors in SoCal. I think it was from 30 year old seed stock...

Beautiful long golden pure-sativa calyxes. the pistils a golden-orange that seems to match the overall yellow-gold hue of the bud

It tastes smokey, woodsy, hashy…oh it was soo good! it reminded me of scotch…ha

It was being sold at a both too

^ no, I got two females and one was what I call purple snow pheno (frosty sativa with phz smoke effects) and one I called ag as she had skinny leaves from the get go different from the haze pics (looked like skinny leaf mex.to my eye).. the ag pheno has not shown potency to me yet but I have not really tested her. i'm fixing to run fritzman's ag soon and might run some ag pheno from drgt at thte same time. very little space to work with.

didn't get a balanced pheno in my two females.

Too cool, I remember paying whatever it took to get AG in college in the early '70's. Always worth it.

^ I slung some weed in the college '70's years. we had mostly beautiful Colombo's, some really nice Mexican lightly pressed, some thai, some nice hash. the weed the customers liked best was some Acapulco gold; really looked golden. this was the best except for some occasional thai that was incredible; even better than ag but very limited in quantity. so few got to partake. there were reports of occasional panama red but I never got any.

Long gone, but it's nice to dream of the smokes of the 70's, absolutely some the best smoke ever was had in those days gone by. Maybe someday the real deal will pop up from somewhere, one can only hope. I just wish i would of kept some seeds proper, when i had the best of the best in my hands.

Snowhigh seeds has lots of strains with "Acapulco Gold" in them. I have the Pipe Dream (Blue Dream Haze X Acapulco Gold X C99). Most of those strains use a (Acapulco Gold X C99) Male. The buds from the Pipe Dream were a Darker green and had lots of RED hair. Rock hard nugs !!! I also made the following crosses with the Pipe Dream:
1. Eva Jamaican Dream X Pipe Dream)
2. G13 C99 X Pipe Dream
3. Dinafem Sweet Deep Grapefruit X Pipe Dream
4. Barney's Acapulco Gold X Pipe Dream
5. Pipe Dream X Pipe Dream
6. WOS Colombian Gold X Pipe Dream.

The only cross I ran was the (Jamaican Dream X Pipe Dream). More pineapple was added and the HI is clear as day and energetic. No anxiety!!
