Nevilles h and white widow q's
I haven't done many grows but got good equipment.
this question has plagued me...when to switch from floros to mh.. i have a 1000mh, but dont want to kill my seedlings. about how tall or really what indication can the plant give me that it is ready for mh? how many leaves? period of time form seed germination? 2 weeks after germ.. no one really talks about that part of growing. in this case, i am using females seeds nevilles haze hybr. and w.w.. anything you can tell me?

Hi, you can start with your big lights but you have to keep them in a bigger distance from your young seedlings ( At the start i keep my 400w 60-70cm away). I think that after 2-3 weeks of vegging (after the plants have developed 5-6 pair of leaves) it is safe to put it under your mh. A symptom of a plant taking too much light it is usually a more pale green at the leaves and less vigorous plants.
You have some nice strains, white widow is an easy one, nevilles requires some patience as it can take over 12 weeks to finish (and it does reach height), but it is great stuff with a pretty good yield. You may want to reduce the light during the last weeks of flowering to 10-11 hours per day so to help your buds rippen. My neville during the last 2 weeks had some male flowers at the buds, but i only found 2-3 seeds at the whole crop. Not to worry if that happens at the final phase, but keep an eye on them, these plants may not be 100% female. Good luck with the grow. a white widow bud and nevilles bud |

For the most part, vegging can be done with just fouro's and a large percentage of people do just that. Why? Because the light intensity during flowering is what counts. Why pay an extra $60 for your electric bill when the flour's will cost less then $10 to run and it won't affect your yeild. Most people see it as a waste of money. A big waste.
