I always have so many projects going on. But I have Himalayan, Malawi and pure Highland Thai all of which I want to work closely with and maybe will have a chance after the new year.
I am also looking to bring back some Mexican that I lost as a pure strain. I have it in Jackson's GIFT and would like to grow out some more of my HillBilly HAZE to try and isolate the Mexican within the Haze. I ultimately would like to get the most Mexican leaning plants from both Jackson's GIFT and HillBilly HAZE and breed those together, then back cross the offspring for about 4 to 5 generations. Most of my friends are more interested in me working the Malawi again for them all, but for once I need to just do for myself when it comes to this wonderful plant. Find myself again.

Very cool... I had great success with an Afghani-Malawi cross I bred out from SSSC seed. Wonderful smoke, did it about 25 years ago and still drool over the memory.

I really like my HillBilly HAZE, and Jackson's GIFT when it comes to personal smoke. I just remember that I did a Skunk #1 x Mexican cross in 2009 I think. I need to go look for those beans in my collection. That was some good smoke. After this run is done (plants are only in Veg) it will for sure be: Malawi Himalayan Jackson's GIFT and HillBilly HAZE I wish I had a nice Hawaiian to add in there. Need to talk to some of my old friends.

I am not one for taking pictures these days but I know I posted up some pics of the Himalayan beans on icmag (somewhere) in 2008 I believe. I obtained my Mexican genetics mostly from my uncles some of whom live in San Felipe and others whom still go to Mexico to visit regularly.

nice man always like to see people working with malawi and thai. great lines to work through for sure. one thing though there is no such thing as hawaiian. no cannabis is native to the islands, its all been brought there so unless you grow it there it's just whatever the genetics are. there is a thread on here where some locals break it down nicely. just fyi dude.

And that Thai is tiring. 20 Weeks is a long time to keep a plant happy. But I am once again looking forward to it.

Gush is a cross of a G13xHawaiian female to the Jim Ortega Kush male. The Hawaiian is something Jim has had since the 80s, it's not the same as the Hawaiian Nevil used in the past. Nevil described it as a large yielding, very potent plant that wasn't strong in flavour. The G13xHawaiian mother he chose tasted like G13 i.e. hashy, typical Afghan type. The Gush is intended to give you a bigger yielding Kush type. The G13xHaw mother yielded 60% more than the Kush mother and G13 x Kush worked well in the past - prime example being G13 x NL2 (NL2 was a Kush type) which is where the Pacific and Airborne G13s come from. This breed should give you a mix of plants that are very kushy or a mix of hashy and kushy, the hashy part from the G13xHaw. |
