Canon 7d night time lapse

I am wanting to shoot some time lapse using my new canon 7d. i have a 17-40mm and a 24-105mm. Which lense should i be using and what settings when shooting in manual mode?? Any tips would be cool . Thanks

There's no correct answer with Night Time Photography. Anything and everything goes. You already know the biggest part - Manual Mode.

Depends on what your shooting and if you want depth of field. Keep in mind the smaller the aperture the longer you'll need to keep the shutter open for.

I've seen people use flashlights and flashes to spotlight a subject for a quick moment while the shutter is open. I've even seen people run through the frame with sparklers to introduce a different light.
