See this or this.

Just a taste:

This information might be obvious to some, but many users and application developers are not aware of the implications of default read access. In theory, this means that an application with only the INTERNET permission can upload the entire contents of the SD card to a server on the internet. While this does not constitute a direct breach of the Android security model, it should always be in the back of the user’s and developers’ minds. Also, should data be stored on the SD card, the sensitivity of this data should be considered.
Careful out there.

Yup.

My phone is like my toaster, it only does one thing.

I don't want a phone that's smarter than me!

Yeah, being a Linux gal I tend to read everything they say when it's time to update apps or when I install. I really wish they gave me the option to disallow that access for all apps/programs. On those I can make that selection I do, other times I decide not to install an app for that specific reason.

And now ASUS really needs to update their version of the Android OS. The browser crashes pretty hard damn near every time I try to use it now. NOT USEFUL, not user-friendly.

You can cut the treat of your phone incriminating you in half if you just simply never log onto public wifi and only putting apps on your phones that are 100% needed. Very good info scrub thanks!!
