Yeah, the fans help dissipate heat from the unit which prolongs the units life. I don't know why there would be three on small unit like that, but.... If you're adventurous and don't mind taking a chance of ruining the unit and voiding your warranty, get some known quiet third party 80 MM's fans (I assume that's the size you have...get 120 MM if that's what you have) at your local computer parts retailer or the internet, open your light and swap out those loud stock fans. At your own peril...

I think Northern lights is the strain usually mentioned in regards to being potent and low odor.

Each of 3 fans are 120MM, so i must buy 120MM, but in my plan is just 2 fans which are powerful and have a minimum decibels... i don't know are 7db loud?

i lot of people give me advice about Northern lights.... some say that good low odor is arjan haze3?

thanks for quick reply

if it is not a secret, which panel did you buy? You might be able to get away with covering the fans with a kitchen sponge to deaden the noise but only if you can use another fan like a house fan from outside to cool the light to make up for the air flow you've removed with the sponge.

If this sounds risky it is because it is...because you are playing around with the cooling and that is almost the quickest way to fry an LED unit....so please be careful.

Anything you do to the unit will void the warranty so your best bet would be to change out the fans for less noisy/turbulent ones.....needless to say, see if you can check the fans in there to see the cfm and either match it or better it....

Good Luck

If they are 12V, just replace them with quieter ones.

Your best bet is muffling any sound and getting yourself a filter. Non odorous bud looks, tastes, and smokes like hay in my experience.

No no, I am saying you can replace the fans but that would void the warranty.

I would first try to deaden or 'muffle' is the word someone used which is great......yes, try to muffle the sound if you can but be careful how you do it so as to not decrease the air flow too much. That would raise the temps. inside the unit too high. That's why I mentioned that if you muffle the sound, get another fan to try to take up the slack for the air flow decrease by the muffling.
If you're confident in your manual dexterity skills, then by all means replace the fans with quieter ones... as long as the air flow (cfm) is equal or greater to the ones being replaced...

^^^^^^^^^^^
see the 'house fan' blowing onto the LED units to provide extra cooling....that is what I am talking about if you decide to muffle the unit fans....

I hope that more understandable.....sometimes I tend to babble and not say anything....:-)

Good Luck

If you don't care about the waranty there is a simple mod that you can add to your light panel to make it silent.

Buy a simple 12V dimmer like the one in the following picture , open the led panel , disconnect the fans from the power supply, connect the power supply to the dimmer and connect the dimmer to the fans. This will allow you to adjust the speed of those fans to a decent value so the noise will decrease as such.

Just search on Ebay for "12V 8A LED Light Dimmer" and you will find it.

P.S. Before opening the led panel take a close look inside the unit and see if there is any heatsink with fins. If there are no fins and just a aluminium plate I don't recomend to decrease the speed of fans to less than 75-80% of maximum speed , because this is a closed system and the natural convection is blocked by the walls of that box.

I agree with Brownthumb and Vukman. I think the best thing to do is just find same-sized fans and replace them with better ones. Just turning down the speed using a speed controller may not be a good idea, because it will raise the temperature of the panel and decrease its life. There are plenty of good, quiet fans around. If you find some that are 7dba, that is very quiet (though I don't imagine they can be moving that much air that quietly).
