charcoal, hot ash, smudge pots.......no... a bonfire!
but not just one bonfire ... TWO bonfires!!!  if it was in his back yard he could have used hot water bladders. he would have to trade the bladders out every few hours, but still ... |

Those inrared heaters they use in restaurant terraces could do the trick, if one had the money... Some work with gas too..
