Which AdvancedLedLight to choose?

I want the best coverage but dont want to miss out on the new technology. I got a $550 budget and im looking at the 180w extreme flower model, diamond series 200w model, or the diamond xml series model.

Im flowering in a 4x8 tent an im just gonna stick it in one side an hang some panda film to create a 3x4 area. So which light should i choose.

3x4 seems like a pretty big area for any of those lights, TBH.

I'm not sure. Have you thought about eShine? They manufacture the advancedled lights, are cheaper, and you can customize the spectrum.

They give discounts on multiple fixtures, but you can usually get a few bucks off or free shipping if you ask. Call them and they'll tell you which is better for your area.

as for going through eshine, although some of those lights look the same on the outside, the internal components that make up the lights may be completely different. Even the photo's they show have two different designs, one more toward the Advanced look, the other looks like the lenses/led's are typical cheap Chinese. I don't like dealing with the Chinese directly, they are more likely to rip you off as an individual.

I went looking for eshine grow reports and found this warning from Advanced that came out last week.

from https://blog.advancedledlights.com/un...-buyer-beware/

Quote:
Here is the Truth about Eshine Systems:

1. Eshine Systems does not make, manufacture or supply any products to Advanced LED. (We tested their lights and found Eshine to be far inferior from what they claim.)

2. Eshine Systems LEDs are cheap low quality lights that will fail at a high rate (tested). Common Problems Include: Power supply failure, lenses falling out, dented/scratched lights, LED failure, switch failure and LEDs remaining lit in the dark period! We get calls on a daily basis about eShine and the problems people have with their lights.

3. Eshine Systems LED does not honor their warranty! They require that customers ship the lights back to them in China(expensive), pay to have them fixed and then pay for shipping again. NOTE: If they tell you they pay for these things it is only to sell you!

4. Eshine Systems LEDs are not the same as the Diamond Series LEDs. Even though they look the similar, the Diamond Series is very different. Here are a few differences:

We are a USA based company with a 24 hour warranty guarantee and full time AMERICAN staff to help all our customers. Call us! 1-800-401-6307
The Diamond Series have been Tested (real grow tests), Proven (see YouTube) and Approved (see our reviews) by growers world-wide and are backed by a 90 day guarantee and a warranty that costs you nothing.
Higher quality parts! We use top quality fans, heat sinks and top BIN LEDs from the best brands for each color we use. Our manufacturing process is much more accurate and able to wire and test lights that have a very low rate of part failure. (less than 1%)
The Diamond Series Lens! We tested over 40 different TIR lenses and hand selected the DS LED lens as the best choice. We are always testing new lenses and the DS lens remains the winner. Although the Eshine Lens looks the similar, it is not the same lens. In fact many companies simply put a TIR optic or a Collimated (dome shaped) lens over their LEDs and tell you it is a Diamond Series. Each lens operates completely different from others and the Diamond Series Lens is perfect for growing.

Fair enough, I don't have a horse in this race, and can't comment about the truth of that blog post (when I tried to go to it I got a malware warning). Just wanted arthritis_sucks to be aware of all the options. Advanced users seem to be happy with their products, which is what matters. Arthritis_sucks was just worrying about covering more space on a budget, so I thought I'd mention the options. The eShine version of the DS200 is $255 plus shipping. So, he/she could almost get two of them for his budget, which is something he/she might at least want to consider. https://www.eshinesystems.com/grow/3g...row-light.html

This one would probably also be in the $550 or under range, though it's not Advanced-style: https://www.bsled.com/led-grow-light/h161d-280w.html

To answer your original question, Arthritis_sucks, if you do want to go with Advanced, I'd imagine the DS200 would be your best bet in terms of coverage.

Whatever you decide, I would focus on spectrum along with manufacturer because without the right ones growth can be affected no matter the make/model. Now which spectrum works for you might vary different because so far it seems everyone is testing out a ton of different spectrum options especially in the DIY section of grow forums ( specifically here ).

The spread can be dealt with by led angle as well btw.

thanks everyone for the input. eshine just doesnt seem like a company that i want to go through. i pretty much narrowed down the company i want to use because of their 11+ spectrum mix and the quality an customer service of their products. Im just tryin to pick the best outta those three and decided to pick neither and go with 2x ds100's which will cover the most space for my budget, while still stayin with the new technology (besides the xml model which are just too expensive for the coverage they offer.)
