Is a HOOD necessary.Esp in macro photography?
Hi. Fairly new to this DSLR photography.3 months approx and have just realised the cannon 58mm hood i bought wont fit the 50mm compact macro lens i have.
shoot. d me yea 8mm difference !!

Depends on your lighting situation and potential for lens flare.
Hoods are always a good idea. They also protect the lens. I sometimes leave the hood on without putting on the lens cap. You can also stand them up on their lens hood while in storage. |
