Greetings to all at the forum! My name is Yehoshua. I'm an oleh from Colorado, USA.

I'm looking to start an agricultural cannabis business for medical distribution with the permits and dealing with all the government (headaches and) requirements in Israel. Getting to the right agency / office / misrad has been virtually impossible for me so far. Does anyone know who to contact that has information on how to get permits, etc. Any help on this, including contact info to anyone who has gotten a permit for growing for nonpersonal use would be appreciated.

Also... and I know that this is a longshot... Is there information on the numbers side of agri-pot in Israel like how much the wholesale cost is to the pharmacies / kupot, etc. I need to do the number crunching for a business plan and this kind of info is not as available as it is for other businesses.

יש המון הוצאות על אבטחה והמחיר שקונים את הסחורה לא מלהיב.

כשאתה אומר שזה יקר, האם אתה מתכוון שהציוד והזרעים החקלאיים, וכו 'הם יקרים, או משהו אחר.

חוץ מעלויות אבטחה ותפעול כללי, אני מודאג עם העלות של רמות PH מים ואדמה המאוזנות מאז שאני גר במרכז הארץ וכל מה שהוא מאוד בסיסי כאן שמירה.

When you say that it is expensive, do you mean that the agricultural equipment and seeds, etc are expensive, or something else.

Besides costs of security and general operation, I am concerned with the cost of keeping water and soil PH levels balanced since I live in the center of Israel and everything is very alkaline here.

1st, welcome to the forum.
as for your question, you have to take in mind for some of the terms they ask in israel.
you have to be a known group with an expirience of at least 5 years of growing any agricultural growth for human use in greenhouse conditions in minimum of 1 acres zone.
also you have to show them expirience with quality check of : climates, water, nutrients and pests...
not so easy, unless you can find someone to use his business, which suppose to be easy this days...
anyway, after you done with all their requests, you have to take in mind you gonna sell your product for 7 shekels per gram...
as for the security, it's bullshit, you can use cameras and alarm that triggers the security company...
so, you should make the calculations to see if all this worth to you.

אם זה מדאיג אותך תחשוב לכיוון עציצים ולא לכיוון לתקן את האדמה.

תודה רבה לכולכם על התשובות המועילות. נראה לי שזה לא כדאי להמשיך קנביס חקלאי כעסק בישראל. יש לי רקע בגידול, אבל לא בצורה שהיה מוכרת בארץ.

Thank you all very much for the helpful answers. It seems to me that it's not worthwhile to pursue agricultural cannabis as a business in Israel. I do have a background in growing, but not in a way that would be recognized in the land based on what rootcap said. It was in the USA and was a personal operation / non commercial.
