CQ can have a bit of a slow start (from the Killer Queen R side), and needs a bit more veg time for her to hit her stride.

Seed Buyers Beware! Don't waste your money on hype. If you have to buy multiple seed packs to find that "keeper", you're getting ripped off. Every female in a pack of seeds should be a keeper! We've been led to believe that lots of variation in a cross is a good thing, because some vendors would rather you buy several packs of their gear, instead of them actually doing the selections to fix that nag champa or golden clit trait themselves. For hobby growers, pheno hunting is fun. But mono-croppers who grow to pay the bills prefer a consistent product that regularly delivers the desired trait package.

But I won't flower until I'm sure those clones are going to make it.

I have a friend who grows for his dispensary. He vegges in 2 gal and flowers in 3 gal containers. That is what I was expecting. Silly me.

Found a pic illustrating casey jones root vigor from a few years back. 18 gallon pots should work way better. Not sure if killer queen roots like casey but maybe the casey queens you have with crazy roots are casey jones leaning phenos?

All the best man, hope you nail it!

To allow for some consistency and enable valid comparisons , every plant documented since 2000 , unless otherwise stated , has been flowered in the same basic two litres of compost , if possible untopped .

This size was worked down from 10 litres and is fine for a sea of budsticks and the lowest realistic limit for high numbers desired.

These are not near rootbound yet but may well be later , if they suffer water stress they can stand in a wet gravel tray , plants are bonsai compared to what most of you are flowering in but they still reveal their nature and the really fussy ones and bicurious are deselected by the inherent stress.

Yield is moderate but exceeds my needs , running fifty plants perpetual under a 600 gives me a better chance of finding something special from 300 odd seeds a year .

Top cuttings taken in veg failed which is unusual in this cloner , small dodgy looking clones taken last week rooted in four days despite being covered in pistills.

Thanks for explaining your strategy, foomar. Obviously dialed in. I'll bet you get good light penetration and no larf.

Smaller plants work better for me too. I'm going to outgrow my area of premium light. I'll do better as I get my garden more dialed in.

Good looking plant. bg

Combination of flowering vigour and a longer than usual veg is pushing the limit for small pots and hand watering , a tray of wet gravel is allowing a seperate root structure as in ring culture with toms , but bigger pots would have been better for sure.

Stretch is less than most Casey expressions i have grown , not an issue with training.

Odd looking smooth white tube like pistills.

I've just spent the last 10 minutes looking at those last 2 pics. Absolutely beautiful!

Compost on a bed of gravel. I might try that with some of my plants. I have some that may work well that way.

Thanks for those details. bg

the amount of root turned out to be huge , potted up to 5 litre in mid flower , lesson learned for the following clones which will get ten.

Getting quite frosty and and the smell asserting itself in a crowded room.

One just showing a hint of colour , ahead of the other one in bud development and a much stronger smell.

They took their time to get going but have made up for it by now , takeing the space of a dozen usual test plants and gone a bit mad.
.

Looserbuds with a more delicate sweeter aroma on the pale sister.

Hi foomar.

Looks like its been snowing at your house. Love this winter weather.

I look at your plants and say to myself that my plant will look like that if I don't screw it up. Thanks for the update.

Get out the snowboots. bg
