Round 8 ASG Amnesia x Silver Shining Haze 250W HOR/VERT

Here we go! 4 feminised seeds sprouting in Atami plugs with seed and clone soil. Underneath a bit Gold Label with wormcrap cocopeat and fermented grape stuff. Aluminium will be removed in some time and plants transplanted.

Air is barelly moving Bulb close. First time I am conciously doing this. I thought this was the best climate the seedling can be in. It does cause some water to leak from the tent from the fog.

Temp 23-25 Celcius
KWH 0

Selection phase

So I think I did well until now. All seeds prouted. No critters. Optimal airflow and optimal bulb position. No spots or anything. Can't be much better with the equipment available

Until transplantation in about 2 more weeks ill try to select the 2 or 3 remaining plants. So far I thought the middle two plants will be selected. The plants on the edges I thought were to small or to slim. Maybe things will change in the remaining time.

@ IC That's bad to hear of it. Ofcourse ill do all I can to prevent mould from manifesting. Flower period will be in mid winter until about the end of februari. Hopefully itll be frosty so I get my low RH air. And the airflow increases alot into flowering phase. Also it is a mixture of 40% cocopeat and besides wormcrap of plagron with worms in it. Some fermented grapes and the worms have been init for over a year now.

Should be enough. What substrate do you recommend?

What substrate do you recommend?

I recommend blocks of coco. DHF stated that the bags of coco pick up critters when they are stored next to soils in the grow stores. This makes sense to me as I only seem to get fungus nats when I bring in some kind of bagged product, be it soil or coco. Besides coco if treated right can be used again and again unlike soil.

I have read that Coco can be put in the microwave after use to kill the critters and be reused. Sounds like a good alternative after transporting hundreds of liters of dirt into the house.

I recognise said about critters in dirt. This is why I wait loading the tent up with it. Seedlings need a critter free environment to start off with. I saw that a start with a loaded tent resulted in lots of critters around the seedlings in round 6 and 7. But after the plant is stronger they did no real harm.

When I had fungus it was because I had low exhaust capacity.

And I thought fungus is something that could ruin the party for every grower. Lots of factors in the game; climate, genetics etc.

Hush - I'm subbing in for the show. You still messing around with positive pressure in your rooms?

Thank for subbing in :) I'm going to put them in some positive pressure when node 5 is showing up. Until into stretch. Lower branches will be removed. Then I will install the carbon filter and put them in negative pressure. At the end of stretch I will put them into the vertical setup.

What I meant was fungus nats. They are little flies that can feed on the roots when not enough decaying matter is around for them to eat.

They breed in organic soil because of the composting of the amendments to the soil mix. Then they fly over to the bagged coco and infest it as well. When you get the bagged coco it now has critters in it. This is what happened when I got the Gold Label coco. It had critters in it.

I'll use about 200 liter of dirt for them to feed on. I bet there will be enough decaying material left for them. Perhaps your problem was related to a minimum amount of dirt per plant in pots.

I will be watching those fungus gnats. Thanks.

Day 14. To small pots. Need transplantation ASAP.

Day 14. To small pots. Need transplantation ASAP.

Wanted to transplant the plants when node 5 is showing. But now I see the lower leafs are already suffering a bit. I will do it as soon as darkness is on.

They will make it but on my way to perfection I need more volume pots. Bout 2,5 liter - 3 liter.

Day 16. Transplantation.

Day 16. Transplantation.

The image shows on the bottom plant 1, top left plant 2 and top right plant 3. All plants still recovering from the tight pots they were in first. Plant 1 looks greenest. 2 and 3 show lighter coloured leafs from bottom leafs up. Sure they will recover. Top leafs are aiming to the illuminator.

Bulb getting closer from ~35 cm > 25cm, slowly increasing temperatures and illumination.

Airflow increased a little in an gentle swirl around the plants.

subbed :) I've checked some of your grows too, I like your style, micro and efficient! I'm watching this one - c ya ;)

Day 18. veg phase

Day 18. veg phase

Plant 1 looks recovered but it was smaller so the roots never got as big as those of plant 2 and 3. Now plant 1 is the same size and green while 2 and 3 look pale-ish.

I still think they'l make it because the branches already showing are green off plant 2 and 3

Day 29. No 12/12 yet

Day 29. No 12/12 yet

Plant 1 @ the bottom image is looking good compared to 2 and in particular plant 3.

Looks like I can't get up to my own expectations, can't even keep them green in the early stage. WOW a failure.

Also I can't keep up with the temperatures dropping. Need more of climate controle going also.
