Could you guys please look this over? Thanks.

Gonna be having a veg area 28"lx28"wx36"h and scrogging in 2 flower areas 28"lx28"wx36"h. the lights I was looking at using are 2-of the 280raptors for flowering and a 140 for the veg area. https://www.blackdiamondlights.com/le...ed-grow-light/
Would that be enough light, or too much light for those areas? This would be the first run using LEDs as they were in a taller space previously with a 250 and 2-400w cmh lights.
I'm probably going with a soil grow initially until I figure a way to go hydro within my height limitations. You guys got any ideas there as well? Thanks again.

I don't think it is TOO MUCH LIGHT in the least, sure they can work.

On the hydro setup with height limitations, the same can be said for soil. Why so short on the flowering cabs? Are they being stacked ontop of each other or is there no way to put a 5' tall tent in your area?

Find a post here from VerdantGreen and then use the links in his sig. to read all his led grow threads from start to finish and you'll have just about every iota of info you need to grow mass quantities under almost the same conditions you have there.

First off thanks for the quick replies.

DrFever, it is expensive initially but eventually I'll have a bigger space available. Its just what I got to work with for now.
Medmaker420, the space available is what's holding things up. There's no space to go taller for now. That's why the required scrog method is being used. Thanks for the light info. Glad it's not too much.
De145, thanks for the info. I'll look him up.

Hi Gm89,

From what I've been hearing around here, the wattage should be fine, but if you don't have much height to work with, you may want to consider trying to get something with a lens angle of at least 90 degrees to prevent bleaching and improve coverage area. I believe the Raptors are 60 degree lenses, no? You may want to check with them. Also, if you don't care about their 5 year warranty, you can get the same light directly from the manufacturer in China (Bysen) for much cheaper, and they will customize the spectrum and lens angles for you.

That said, I think they would work out fine (and still at a better price point than many alternatives), and I'm not sure how much difference 90 vs 60 would make in terms of bleaching since I have no first-hand experience at this point.

vukman has disabled reputation
Please remember that 99% of the retailers buy their products from China....yes..99% so it would be in your best interest to either look through alibaba.com and search for 'led grow lights' or something similar as a search term or get advise from people who have bought LED's already.
The days of 'China makes shit' are long gone.. They are the manufacturer of the world for a reason...very decent quality at prices you can't beat here in North America.
Am I happy about it..HELL NO!!!! but I refuse to give 400-500% profit to someone for doing something I can do on my own....remember
Caveat Emptor......
