citric acid extraction for homebrew
friend of mine mentioned he made up a 4oz citric acid extraction (BadKats method) for a friend doing homebrew. never was able to find out how it turned out but it got the gears turning. from what i can tell citric acid is okay to use when adjusting pH down for brewing and if you are aiming for a citrus-y beer it should not have a very negative effect on final flavor. the final product looks very much like malt extract. was wondering if anyone else has experimented with this at all?
i love light citrus/summer type beers. thinking about trying this with some cascade hops. i've only brewed a handful of times as i mostly focus on my other hobby which keeps me on these boards. so i just have the basics down and have done malt extract and non-extract brews. no dry hopping or anything like that yet. i'm not looking for terpenes or flavors, just THC.
