Harvesting after 5 months of flowering?

Here is something i really just do not have the answer for. I gave my grow buddy some 30 MasterKush seeds and 20 Pheno VeryBerry Clones about 7 months ago, now here is the kick in the ass I have harvested twice and started a new grow and my buddy is still flowering the same crop. I told him that the he is messing up some mighty fine girls making the smoke less potent. He says that i am wrong and they are still growing because of the growth spurts the plants are showing. all the reading I have done the only thing I found is this "plants may have a growth spurt, which lowers the trichome-to-fibre ratio and overall potency for a little while. Usually a fibrous growth spurt is accompanied by a corresponding trichome increase." but it does not tell me if you let an 8 week flowering strain flower for 6 months it well be just as good if you was to harvest in 8. So was I right?

Wait the plant has been in flowering 6 months? Is that even possible I mean I know you can keep it in veg for as long as possible but not in flowering.

Wow, yeah I had know idea that a plant would bud for that long. Talk about patience...lol.

Are the buds even buds anymore. I would guess that they would have started to die off by now, but really I have no experience in such a matter.

Interesting though, he may be the first guy to ever flower an 8 week strain (or any for that matter) for six months.

I beg of you, please get some pics for us to see. I am very curious as to how the plants look.

Keep the Peace

Does not make sense unless he is using really shitty lights or like you said what is the point of bud expanding if it is not still producing trichomes. I have also noticed this same thing with strains in big pots yield more but the overall potency it diminished as well as taste cause the same strain in a smaller pot will yield alot less but the taste and quality is killer. This however is not the case with all strains cause some will make big dense chronic nugs in bigger pots. Poor plant can only imagine the abuse it has gone through.

Alex,

Thanks for the info.

I remember reading just a bit about dalat on OG.

Have you grown Dalat out?

I have to ask, if so, was the herb worth the wait? It better be...lol.

Take care

Keep the Peace
