Deep Strawberry Diesel
Hey everyone, I just recently cut down my first DSDs and I'd like to show them off since Ganesh's board has been dead lately! For starters, I've grown out the Strawberry Diesel IX, and have no previous experience with Deep Chunk so it's been really fun to observe these colorful plants and distinguish/speculate which traits came from which plant. Having grown the IX coming from the same mother, I'm noticing a lot of familiar smells and quirks. Out of 2 seeds, I got 2 beautiful girls. My goal with this cross was to find a dense, potent, tasty strain that would be suitable to a space I intend to work. This space I intend to work in has fairly short ceilings so Indica structure is what I'm after.
Although they appear strong, they've both got the sour diesel stem... When she produces her dense flowers they need support after about a month 12/12. Even my seemingly DC dominant pheno (which I've chosen to run in the new flower room) is a straight flopper. So far for what it's worth, I think these are the best plants I've cultivated to date. The scissor hash is nice and tasty and the meltiest I've seen from a pair of fiskars! These girls were fed with Floranova, GO Ca/Mg, Floralicious+, Hygrozyme, and Nitrozyme. Boosted with Koolbloom. These pics were taken at approximately 60 days of flower. DSD 1 DSD2 (selected as the short-ceilings pheno)

I didn't get pics of the stretchier pheno in veg since I don't really plan on running her again unless the smoke is significantly better than the other pheno... we will see. anyway, here is my clone for round 2:
That's all for now. I'll try and get more regular photos taken to show the progression of this girl. When the original seed plants are completely dried and cured I'll do a proper smoke report. Take care of yourselves heads! Thanks for stopping in! -Kaoss

Wow plants look amazing! Really like the colors and bet its got one hell of a stone to it. Can't wait for the smoke report. Deep chunk is one of my main breeder stock on my list.

She is a beautiful species of cannabis. Her flowers are real nice and bold colors that came through. How was her terpen levels during flower?

Thanks everyone for checking out my thread! I appreciate the kind words all around, and I agree, DSD is a pretty plant!
NE_grower: She was a stinker for sure, definitely not as pungent as Ganesh's Strawberry Diesel IX, but really distinct and hashy scent. These have been curing since 8/29 and I don't plan on smoking any until at least 2-3 weeks from the original jar date, but I will definitely be back to report on how she puffs! Those are some beauties. The only DC hybrid i ever grew was a Chunky Cheese and i loved the smells and structure. Nice and dense nuggets. Wondering how the yield compares to your IX run you did? I would guess the DC brought the yield down a bit, but maybe not? We'll all be looking forward to your smoke report and maybe some dried nug shots... |
