Moving to San Diego?

I have a job interview tomorrow in San Diego. I currently live in the SE USA. I have done all the research on the city, housing cost, etc.

The job is close to UC San Diego. I will probably rent a small house. Its just the wife and I. She has MS so no problem getting a med card.

My questions. Do you tell your landlord you are a mmj patient? Do most grow indoors or outside? I see photos of the back yard grows in NorCal but I don't know if that is realistic in San Diego. Can you grow outside or will you get ripped off?

Its a great high paying job and I know I will need it because of the higher cost of living but the wife needs to live in a better climate and mmj friendly state.

Thanks for any responses.

I wouldn't tell the landlord
The attitude towards mmj is not like it is up in norcal
I wouldn't grow completely exposed around here but a small greenhouse cud work
If u do grow outdoors &/or in a greenhouse I'd do it in pots so u could move them
Good luck with the interview!

No certainly do not tell the landlord. Or anybody around here. Most grow indoors or possibly a small personal grow outdoors like GT said maybe in a smaller pot to move inside at night or during the cold. Most people live within a close proximity of each other. It makes growing difficult at times. There A LOT of conservative areas and a few not so much. We always joke around that there's a lot of weirdos and you can't go against the grain, go with it! That may make sense... upon arrival

Grow Tech, irobotsd, supermanlives: Thanks for the responses. Interview (8 Hours) went well so I should hear something in a couple of weeks. I think I would prefer to find a landlord who doesn't live nearby.

squarepush3r; thanks for the pm but I don't have enough posts yet to respond, but I will when I do. The area where I will be working is close to UC San Diego near La Jolla.

Plant limits were struck down in the California supreme court case involving defendant Kelly. That does not mean you can grow as much as you want but...it means you can grow as much as is consistant with your medical condition. In the city of san diego Ive been cautioned against growing more than 24 plants. I am outside of san diego city limits and everything I have seen / heard indicates the San Diego County Sheriffs are much more dick-headed than SDPD. I agree that the DA wouldnt likely prosecute for numbers in that ball park but with the SD Counties Sheriffs attitude, I would expect to spend a couple hours in detention, have my house tossed & maybe even have my dog shot if i was unlucky enough to be visited by my local LEO...and I only have a 600w setup indoors and a couple plants under shade outdoors.

It's clear that me & Superman have slighty diff perspectives....and I think that is what it comes down to. YOU have to be comfortable with YOUR setup. Alot of my opinion stems from going to ASA meetings. It's been awhile since I've attended but there were lots of people there sharing their unfortunate encounters with law enforcement...of course people have a tendency to search out support groups like ASA when they're in trouble. Just my
