still the same local area, works the same in the US
send a letter to the next state 500 miles away and it's there the next day. send a letter 2000 miles across the US and it's there in 3 days. mail is moving fast as usual. it's usually the local PO's that delay letters waiting for a bag of mail to fill up

That's funny ( same local area) - does that encompass a state, city, or region??
I live in Vermont. I get a letter from New Hampshire: It goes to Massachusetts first, then north of me, then back south to me in a complete zig-zag. I goes past me twice. * I think it has more to do with bulk routing than the local Post Office. Why would they let it pile up on their desks??

The US Postal Service is broke; out of money. Service is declining in a big way; it's getting real shitty fast.
Having to send money through the mail is starting to suck in a big way. If possible find the main postal office for your city or county and take you letters there. If you drop them at a branch office, expect to add 2 or 3 days to your ship times. ONLY use regular mail or express mail, R.Fortune
