starting seedlings under led

Hi out there to everyone, First of all I'm new to this forum and would like to say what great forum this is with a lot of useful info, really good threads and always a great read I have recently converted from HID which I have quite a bit of experience with to LED and about to start my first batch of seedlings..I will be using 2 lumigrow es330's and 1 147w 3w chip UFO as well..I was wondering if anyone could give me recommended distances on light height between plant tops and light when starting seeds with led..any info and opinions would be greatly appreciated and valued..cheers

close as possible, I think the lumi, I could go 12 inches above without problems.. also then the sizing of your space determines how far you might need to lift the light to cover the area your working with.. so kinda pointless for me to answer without knowing spacing sizes.. and plant numbers / pot sizes..

that's alot of LED power though.. how may seedlings you plan on starting?

I also like to stack up, meaning I fill the space with pots anyway possible, like lining the side with pots, so you stack them on the other pots, and the plants below still get light... all depends on your setup though..

I am vegging under a few different leds right now and ranging in the 300w to 450w range and it looks like each led light is doing just fine germinating seeds so far. I would not put a 400mh or hps as close as I am with these leds thats for sure.

This year is my first go at leds and it seems like many more are finally givin them a go and see how they do.

My germination height is ranging in the foot to 18" range at the moment but since these are my first runs with leds it is all trial and error but hell when is growing NOT trial and error lol.

corwinlame is an unknown quantity at this point
I also make LED lights in my seeds, I give distance of both is 10 inch and its working very effective. It is best for starting the plants and growing the plants. You have to make proper distance of your LED lights.
