Similar thing happened me, I done a rm -rf /var/lib/mysql/* when I should have done a rm -rf /var/lib/mysql/dbname/*
I lost a whack load of datebases but luckily had them all backed up.

Skip, you need to get into your server & do a chmod 777 on the images directory.

I agree with you wallyduck. Backing Up images can be easily burned as a Data CD. (be it CD-R / CD-RW)

Just wished I had done so earlier....I lost quite a number of pics too.
