PC from craigslist. Noob needs help. PICS - Micro Grows - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

i was looking at the free section of Craigslist and saw a PC. Now i have this pc. Any and all suggestions and information is greatly appreciated and welcomed. The only down fall i see with this PC is to open it you need to press a button on the bottom and top and swing the PC open on the hinges (i hope i explained it).

Im going to use the search function and find other PC grows. please comment, post links. anything to help me out. I am a noob at this :(

I've had to work on that type of dell before and I know the cases are a bit different than regular pcs with the whole swing hinge thing, so you might have to do some custom stuff to it that other pc grows don't.

But basically, apart from checking out other PC grows on here (there's lots in this micro grows section to check out), I think step one is to just gut the thing entirely and start planning how to light/air proof it. Good luck man

when i was looking for a case i almost got one of those, free of course, but it seemed like it would be very hard to seal.

but since you already have it apart and cleared out, the only suggestion that i can think of is to build a box inside of the case. find the thinnest sturdy light proof material you can so you don't lose too much room. you might even be able to set it up so that when you swing the pc case shut it shuts the door on the internal box sealing it off. It'll be a bitch i'm sure, but finding the right pc case is hard, and stripping them is no easy task either.

I would have resold that dell 528 back on craigslist for 40 bucks and bought a tower case from frys.

get that fan working with a small transformer and use 9 in micro flouresent bulbs, soil or small hydro?
