US: Felony Charges for Stems and Seeds
Felony drug charges filed against 3
https://www.enidnews.com/localnews/local_story_069013644 The Enid News and Eagle By Cass Rains Staff Writer Three Enid residents were charged Tuesday in Garfield County District Court with felony drug charges. Harold Dante Cole, 22; Brandon Allen Cole, 20; and Rachel Monique Johnson, 20, were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) within 1,000 feet of a school. Each is facing up to two years in prison. Garfield County Sheriff's Department deputies served a search warrant about 1:15 p.m. Friday afternoon at 467 E. Indiana. Deputies, along with Garber and Waukomis police officers, executed the search warrants after receiving complaints the house was being used to sell drugs. During the search of the house, law enforcement officers found $274 in Johnson's bra, marijuana, a cigarette pack containing marijuana stems and seeds and a .380 in a holster inside a dog house on the property, according to an affidavit. Carver Educational Center, also known as Sandbox Learning Center, is located in the 400 block of East Illinois, about 400 feet from 467 E. Indiana. Harold Cole and Johnson have posted $5,000 bail, according to court documents. Brandon Cole still is being held in lieu of $10,000, court records show. The three are scheduled to return to court March 24 for bond appearances. |

The guns gonna screw em. Especially with the school zone.
Buncha stupid BS, because the govt wants to micro manage our lives.... If it was legal then none of these probs would be happening... I so want to run for office and tell the conservatives to go fook themselves.... Now if I only had a few million dollars... |

"I am not sure why you have to continue to dump on everything having to do with the US? If you read the article, they were dealers, not growing for their own use."
I didn't even comment, this is a US story. You should change tour name to JJ Serpico "The felony is because they are close to a school and there was a concealed weapon hidden in a doghouse." Anyone who lives near a school , I think its 2,000 ft., is subject to this law. I t does not indicate they were selling to kids. Guns are all over the US, the charges for weed multiply considerably if you have a gun (like lots of other folks). "Do you think it is a little odd that they have a 38 hidden in a doghouse near a school? Is that something that normal people do? I dont want kids dealing drugs near schools anyways. " Guns are pretty common in the US, and the charges for them generally only get tough if someone has weed or other drugs with them. The two charges should be kept seperate. "And if you read closely they also had marijuana, not just seeds and stems, and the only reason it is a felony is because it is a law to protect school kids." The stems and seeds are the "marijuana", no evidence mentioned they were selling to kids. That law is to further persecute pot people. They use those same laws to charge kids as adults for selling to their schoolmates. " I dont have a problem with that law." I am really getting that impression from everything you post. "I am not sure but I believe that Canada also has laws regarding selling near schools. If you really want to impress me, find me an article where someone gets busted with a small personal grow and they are not selling. Do you want pot legal so you can grow and smoke your own, or do you want people to be able to grow and sell for profit?" Both. Another Guns and Drugs Case Convict Appeals 55-Year Prison Sentence https://pot.tv/archive/shows/pottvshowse-4040.html (KSL News) -- A federal court heard an appeal today from a Utah man sentenced in a first time offense to 55 years in prison for dealing small amounts of marijuana while carrying a gun. Attorneys for 26-year-old Weldon Angelos told federal judges today the sentence was unconstitutionally long. They asked the judges to send the case back to trial or to overturn the sentence as a violation of Angelos' rights. However, prosecutors told the judges the sentence was legal under mandatory minimums set by Congress and under US Supreme Court precedents. Guns are legal in Utah, this charge is just based on his possession of weed. |

My Ex-Girlfriend lived across the street from a school.... Had she grown in that location she would have faced additional charges... I knew someone who lived near a school. He also sold ganja. He NEVER sold ganja to school children. Yet, due to where he lived he ended up with felony time. Lastly, I used to live in a small town. The ganja guy grew and sold.(I never knew him, just read about it after the fact!) As the town grew, they built a school across the street from his house. He NEVER sold out of his house he came to yours.... But as the town grew so did his business. Eventually a joint task force took his ass down! The fact that he MANUFACTURED the ganja across the street from the school was what THEY used.... Oh yeah, lastly there was a news report of these people who used a warehouse in BKYLN to grow tons of ganja... They were NEVER seen and only worked at night! BUT.... The warehouse that took up a whole city block was across the street from a school! ALL of those things fell under a law that protected not 1 single student! That law probably does a lot more harm that it ever did good! Quote:
Why should people who live in apartments be deprived. People who own their own property and dont want to be subject to draconian forfeiture laws? People with brown thumbs? People should be able to get cannabis whether they use it for Medical, Spiritual, or Intoxicating properties and there should NOT be a class system where only those who CAN AND DO grow are allowed! Jah Bless all P.S. As an aside, we the citizens of the US should NOT be defending our inane laws! We need to see for ourselves what is happening to our country and strive to FIX it (Before its too late... If its ISNT already)!! While no country is perfect, we are heading down a slippery slope and sliding fast!

Sellers for sure should be subject to strict scrutiny by quality control personnel. In our case, they are a part of the Central Excise Goods division. It sure has helped maintain thorrough quality all throughout in the cannabis shops. The seller must have some control over price but not entirely, if you ask me. All goods, from cannabis to house rent should be subject to MRPs (maximum retail price).

what makes you think you would be paying $20 a gram if weed were legal?
the reason you pay $20 a gram for weed now isnt because weed is so hard to grow, its because weed is so hard to smuggle into the country. if weed were legal prices would drop like a fuckin rock in a vacuum. once you dont have to risk your life to smuggle the drugs in the price you have to pay people to smuggle drugs dissapears, and once that price dissapears the premium does too. no ones risking their life, so no one needs to make as much money as possible before they get tossed in prison forever. |

Yeah the felony is for the gun not the marijuana. And the law is this anyone distrubuting cannabis within a 1,000 feet of a school, from property line to property line is a felony. You can have cannabis within 1,000 feet of a school and the laws are same as if you are 10 miles from a school its just if you are selling the cannabis that gets you fucked. The selling of the cannabis of those folks was hearsay they never sold to an undercover or nothing and only posessed it so they cant get trafficking(selling) charges. The title of this thread is very deceiving "felony charges for seeds and stems". It should be more like "felony charges for being a dumbfuck and having an unregistered gun in a dog house". In the us it is called "weapon under disability" if you have gun that is not registered and that is the felony charge not the marijuana at all.
