A friend of mine was hired by Walmart a few years ago for an internal investigatory position. He does computer forensics,security analysis and such.

Did you know Walmart has one of the largest facial recognition data bases in the world?
If you go to Walmart always use cash and leave your credit cards at home or in your vehicle.
I havent stepped foot in a Walmart since he told me some of what goes on.

Walmart is death to small business and should be shunned if you care about the community's you live in, ...i personally stopped shopping there about 5 years ago, i figure they don't need MY money.

Walmarts do as much damage to the small business community as a casino does to a residential community, ...better to spend a little more than to help support this huge, ugly octopus that destroys all surrounding small business's until Walmart is your only choice as a consumer.

$36,000,000 an hour works out to $600,000 gross sales per minute, so it looks to me like netting out $20,928 per minute would be easily possible - that's only a 3.5% profit margin, which very few companies would find viable. Mind-boggling numbers, Jesus.

Let Wall Street bail themselves out after all the speculation, corrupt inside trading they have done over the years to get them in the shape they are in.

In the small town I grew up in there was a sporting goods store that charged outrageous prices on everything he sold. Everyone in the community that used him knew it, and because he was the only game for a 30 mile radius or better he charged what ever he wanted. Was an arrogant bastard too. Walmart ran his greedy self serving ass out of business and no one missed him. Maybe had he been less of a dick it would have been different but nearly all of us were glad he had to shut down.
Right now here in Vegas, Alberstons is about to go out of business. They are a union store and charge more for the same item than other stores. I quit shopping there some years ago. Most cases I'll go tom Smith's and occasionally Walmart. I'll drive 10 miles instead of 3 to save 40.00 any day. If the regular stores are going to sale a piece of beef like it's an endangered species-----fuck em!
2 sides to every issue. If WalMart can sale the same item for less the other large stores can too.

I lived in a town/county that refused to let Walmart in. That was refreshing. I hate that damned place and I won't shop there.

Well the only reason wal-mart is growing so exponentially is because Americans are becoming poorer at the same rate of their growth...

I'd love to NEVER shop there again - I seek every sale from other sources, but sometimes, I simply can't afford anything BUT wal-mart.

I hate it - really. Wal-Mart built its company on the construct that everything there was made in America. Now - they are the sole reason American producers (not even small business - HUGE CORPORATIONS as well) are forced to move their facilities to 3rd world countries in order to meet the demands that Wal-Mart places on their pricing scheme. They'll tell a company - we must be able to sell your product at a given price - and we must maintain a given margin of profit - if you can't produce your product in a manner that fits our guidelines - we'll stop stocking your product. So companies fold - ship American jobs over seas - use child labor and lesser quality resources to aid production - all to keep rolling back prices.

In the mean time - the American people lose their job - their income - become dependent on social services - and to maximize said services - MUST shop at Wal -Mart. IT IS INTENTIONAL.

You know they include all the welfare paperwork and everything else with your employment package, correct? Because they KNOW they are not going to pay you enough to survive. THEY PROFIT - and place the burden of supporting their workers on the American public.

The entire system is so beyond corrupt and it makes me so bloody mad I could spit.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO - IS GO BACK TO LOCALIZED COMMUNITY FARMING / PRODUCTION - not even small town - but those on the same street you live on. 5 -6 families - learning again - how take care of and provide for each other - based on the knowledge of what NATURE can produce and give you.

Folks need to learn EVERYTHING they can about organic provision....PERIOD. Think GH, Fox Farm, Botanicare, etc - are going to be there when there is no fuel to deliver it to the store for you. Better wake up folks.

There are about three supercenter walamarts within 15-20 min of me lol. It's true stuff is cheaper there, groceries and all. They are trying to get everyone to use self-checkout so they can stop using cashiers. Not having cashiers and baggers make them save money for themselves and also another reason they are able to have lower prices on their items.
