Supplementing PL-L with LED's
Hi, in my current setup I'm using 4x55W Pl-l's in a cabinet thats 50x60 cm, 70 cm tall. I do get some heat issues and would like to replace 2 of the PLL's with leds. Now I'm unsure of the spectrum and wattage of the said LED.
Would I be OK with using just 50 wats of 630nm leds or do I need a broader spectrum. I have a deal on Osram diamond dragons 630nm that supposedly put out 70 lm at 1.4 A.

Hey Vlad,
You want as full of a spectrum as possible to get good yields. The auxiliary pigments donate electrons at near 100% efficiency and they actually protect the chlorophyll. I dont know of an LED that would fit in your case though, I use bigger panels. Sidd
