Not sure bout this one as the major variable is gonna b each person's interpretation of colors... But for what I see as a bright, clear yellow (6.0 for the drops) comes out on a bluelab pH pen as 5.9. Brand new pen, cal'd at 7/4... Just did it right now.p.. On ro water.
Btw, the color print on my drop bottle is wrong... It looks yellow-green as the 6.0 reference, which is really more like 6.5... Low quality print job is my guess. Don't think any two of us truly see the same shade of color anyway. |

I fucked up a run once cuz my e meter was failing (little by little here and there) and I didn't notice it till it was too late. Had a good Hannah one too. I forget the exact model number but it wasn't a pen.
not the case with my $5 drops tho, those have never let me down.

I don't pH test at all.
worm castings, coco coir, a little soil and or vermiculite. mostly organic ferts in low dosage. no real need.

i think i already gave my opinion about color tests
they aren't stabe like our friend here earlier stated, each person see's color a bit diffrently other than that, when it concerncs diffrent degrees of color not brightness but color, the test is faulty the humen eye is alot less sensitive to color degrees than it is to brightness degrees and color reflactions change completly under diffrent lights meaning under the sun a 5.5 reading could look like the color of 6 and vise vursa flauro lights, incandecent lights all change the color you see eventually no degree of instruction under which light to view these colors in general i don't like the color codes they don't help me with ec either i prefer using bluelabs combo meter it's expensive but it lasts a while until you have to waste any extra money very effecient, gives you what you need and very reliable i never compared what i read to the bluelab because it's enough for me to ask 3 friends which ph they think it is and each person says something else for me,that's useless in general i already know what my furt blends do to the water so i know what to expect the only thing i need to watch for is ec rising(from dirty osmosa filter or such things) other than that i know exactly what hesi's furts should do to the water and if i see the exact readings i know the meter is still accurate i think the most important thing is to stay with one good meter that way you learn your water reactions pretty well i think i can do the same thing almost without the meter with the same success but having that baby helps me sleep at night ![]() hope that helps i used both the drops and the strips in the beginning, hate them
