medical film tables - tutorial

do to the fact ive been crazy busy and neglecting repeated request to do an mft, il make the time for pho and all the other licensed growers to build and run my system from scratch.

to start classic 30 site mfts you will need:

10 feet of 6 inch flex foil duct - 15.00
4 pieces of osb (4x8) - 35.00
6 pieces or 2x6x8 - 20.00
1 mag drive model 7 - 100.00
1 mag drive model 12 - 130.00
3/4' inch res exhuast hose (garden)- (free to 75 bucks subject to length)
100 feet 1/2 inch feed line - 25.00
100 feet 1/4 inch drip line - 25.00
30 5 inch net pots - 50.00
1/4 inch drill bit - in tool box
4 3/4 inch hole saw - 25.00 - 50.00
1 roll vapor barrier (10ft x 100ft 6mil) - 60.00
2 tubes bathroom caulk (mold mildew proof clear) - 15.00
caulk tool - 7.00
yellow hydro hole puncher (1/4 inch) - 5.00
30 1/4 inch nipples - 10.00
1 1/2 inch t connector - 3.00
1 1/2 inch female pump connector - 3.00
2 1/2 inch flow valves - 6.00
2 1/2 inch plugs - 6.00
1 bag of hydro corn - 50.00
1 roll of black and white reflective poly - 75.00
1 cordless drill - in the tool box
100 3 inch zinc screws - 15.00
2 2x4x8 studs foir legs - 5.00
1 4 foot level - in the tool box
1 power outlet - 15.00
1 100 gal res (50 gal will work too) - 100-300.00
1 soft pipe cutter - in the tool box
1 box cutter or razor blade - in the tool box
30 3 inch rockwool cubes - 20.00

thats about it. you should be able to get all the mft hardware for 1000.00 or under, depending on what you already have, and if you can get anything new. extremely cheap compared to most other 4kw or 6 600w set ups for 30 plants.

all that you need to toss is roots and rockwool/hydroton in between crops, but we will get to that

and remember, for longer rooms, you can always customize the tables to be troughs with huge trees in skinnier rooms, or lengthen then to 5 feet wide and as long as you like subject to your space.
ive rocked 2 4.5 foot by 4 foot tables x 2 in small rooms in condos
before, with unreal results. but for the sake of mfts, they were created to be 2 - 4x8 tables.

another note, every single person ive ever taught the mfts to, has always made a personal change to them. in plumbing, or harware or material used. so dont heitate to share improvements/personal changes you've done or always used in other set ups that apply to mfts.

How much is the average yield on these mft using 4 1k lights? For example using conkushion for a strain?

on my last conkushion grow i got 10 lb 1 ounce of bud, and 7 ounces of sheesh from the trim.

plants grow more bud and less leaf in hydroponics. so the textra time you spend monitering mfts, you make up when trimming. that trim took 1 pound every 2.5 hours. well below the 4 hour average. plus thers no pop corn nugs with the med-man method, so that helps a ton too.

using the med-man method and mfts, you should get 7.5 to 10 plus pounds of bud every 75 days, with no down time. keep in mind, the 4 kinds i tested in toronto had an average of 19%thc, 50% higher then the national average of 13%. based on 120 entrees.

mft's were developed in the late 90's for nl#5 and bc big bud. which always averaged over 10 lbs. i did a beaster run 1 time when i first moved back to bc, and got 11.75 pounds from the juicy fruit clone. thats the best ive ever done for yield in 2 4x8 mfts. oh i ran lui 1 time as well and got 11, but that stuff sucked ass for potency. the average lui top wighed 18g.

2 to 2.5 per should be the dialed in average, strain doesnt really matter when using the med-man method in mfts, mm

thats up for you to decide man. we all have our own personal needs and desires from our systems and strains.

mft's were designed to increase yield and quality, and lower labour and expenses/ running costs not only for set up but long term operation.

so when anyone askes me what yields the best, i say anything, becuase the yield and quality is increade whilst overhead and labour are decreased, savey? mm

but if you dont have a favourite kind, hybrids of 50/50 indi/sativas will get you the biggest yields in the shortest amount of time, due to there hybrid vigour and long donky dick style buds. the biggest plant i ever grew in classic mfts weighed 12 ounces, and it was a 3 foot tall 4 branched juicy fruit. a monster. without any issues you should get kusg buds bigger then fists once dried and cured, mm

My next run will prolly be all conkushion. My current run is three different strains. 2 are fem seeds I bought from VSB and my 3rd are the conkushion samples they gave me. I haven't tried any of them yet but the conkushion looks the best. I can't wait for them to finish so I can try them.

i didnt win any awards. just tested the most thc in canada out of 120 entrees. what mattered most was all my kinds tested 50% stronger then the average of all the other entrees. my avaerage was 19% for 4 kinds. the other 120 avergaed 13%.

What kind of nutrients do you use? Do you ever get clogged lines? Your system design seems closer to a NFT system I think, but without the spraying.....did you say you left the water pump on 24/7?

About how much solution would you say accumulates below the net pots where the root are laying before it drains back to the main tank? What size is the tank that holds the nutrient solutions? And what size water pump do you use?

Any air stones or air pumps?

at the moment i run advanced 3 part , me tea in bloom and h202 and all my additives- cannabolic stacker, kind cal, kind bud bloom, and kind bud swell. canada recently added a couple chems on the restricted list, and i am too busy to go register at the moment to buy more under the new gay ass terror laws.

all the drip lines are open ended. there should be no clogs unless there is res/root issues. like algae or bacteria blooms, too much sugar added or too much organic nutes.

pumps run 24/7, subject to chem vs organic nute regimen.

the nutes drain back immediately, once roots get big they will hold moisture underneath , and be totally expose to air above.

tank size can be 50 to 100 gal. but 50 is more maintainance the bigger and more mature the plants get. i prefer 100 gal grotek rezs.

to circulate water i use a mg drive model 12 (but 7 or 5 will work)this eliminates the need for stones.

for feeding mag drive model 5-7 will work as long as you plumb in the fee line properly, or the back last row of plants will not get enough juice if any.

i recently moved all med-man brand operations to a new head quarters.

my conkushion mom is about 3 inches tall right now lol.

my next run (rooting now) will be my chocolate kush, headband, road kill skunk, med mans og, and some pain killer and some others if they root in time.

i will be posting my new hydro system too right away - medical film buckets. i was just in vancouver picking up the prototypes, and am building and r/d room as we speak.

once i dial in my new production site with coco grows, il be converting all the spaces to medical film buckets, so alot on the go and to look out for.

Hi MedMan, I heard about you on the social grow. if I wanted to build 1 4x8 table how many sheets of plywood? the parts list says 4 sheets of osb are you doubling the top and the bottom. the foil exhaust hose what is it used for?
