Fahrenheit 451

This whole situation reminds me to an old Francois Truffaut movie "Fahrenheit 451" (based upon Ray Bradbury's Sci-Fi novel).
It's all going on in an futurustic super-state where all seems to be happy (it only seems like they are), and everything is strictly arranged by law. The main thing is that books (and that means knowlegde) are forbbiden. There are a special police forces that confiscate and burn books (F 451 refers to a temperature of paper combustion) and people who owns 'em are sent to prison.
But, there's some kind of resistance movement and each of the members learns to remember one particular book so the much as possible knowledge and information will be saved for the next generations.
It is probably impossibile to retrieve all the usefull data from OG/CW ever, but recollection of OG/CW knowledge started pratcticaly within first 3 days after severs went down. And it's not only on the Icmag (but icmag certainly has a leading role in it). There's a numerous regional websites and forums worldwide that preserves that knowledge.
It's gonna be a long and dirty fight, and i expect to have my head down in the mud very often, but, so be it. More my head is mud covered, less chances they have to get inside my mind and to do some brainwashing (not to mention, mud is great for dreadlocks). After all, isn't a destiny of an gardener to be closely conected with soil?

I've never read that book but i can just imagine how great it can be. Just the idea was great and at that moment (movie was filmed in '66. i suppose the book was from sixties too) it might seemed, like, it's just a fiction, pesimistic view of an author, but, we already live in that kind of future. In a fact, it's already past.

FYI, the book is from '53. I have a copy but have yet to read it... Considering its only 180 pages large print PB, I don't know why I haven't read it.

I lked it, but its been years since I read it.... interesting concepts within though.

Definitely worth a read if you have it in the collection. Hell it's worth a read if you don't.

It's a good analogy for the Techno-Dark Ages we are facing.

seeds are nothing but biologically encoded text...
we are WAY to late in the game to be fretting over the loss of some idle banter...
