If you want a grapefruit smell and taste, get Acid from paradise seeds. I had a single bean that was a freebie. Makes nice big buds, loaded with crystals, smells and tastes exactly like red grapefruit, and it's nice and potent. 100-200 seeds my ass. Some of my best plants have come from a single seed, not multiple packs. I'm not saying that pheno hunting is stupid, because i love it. But to say you need to start multiple packs or hundreds of seeds is wildly inaccurate.

My experience with Somas Seeds are in the same category. Though i still have half the pack NYCD the first two ladies weren't my cup of tea. The taste of both was sourish like vinegar, the smell was like motoroil and liversausage and amphetamine at the same time. IDK who likes that. The pheno no 3 however grew into a human head sized bud of megalong fluffy foxtails and i had to cut it down after 10 weeks or so because it had the budrot inside. But it looked like it was willing to go even longer in a dryer environment. Pheno no 2 had nice hard nuggets but i was searching for the grapefruit smell too and discarded those two. I think when you want grapefruit you have to buy grapefruit. Also the lineage lies of soma make me believe theres something wrong with his strains. How can he tell his story of the bagseed he got from a rastaman and write on the package mexican sativa x afghani. I don't know...

Well,i've never seen something like this before too. Maybe it was the genes but can also in part be related to the soil i was testing,it had more fertilizers as the usual one. But all the others didn't show those extralong foxtails. So mainly the genes. Hehe i made a few dozen seeds, crossed it with a DP Blueberry male. Someday i will have a look into this.

If you haven't let your NYCD plants flower for 100+ days then you are probably wasting your time growing it. It really needs that long or very close to it. It yields quite well but you have to take into account that it needs the 100 days.

The downside is, it is quite prone to developing mold, despite the buds feeling light and fluffy. Crazy long solid foxtails.

I found that they weren't a very strong high, but it was an interesting high, quite unique. It is neither at typical sativa or indica high. The high was very uplifting and positive. Some of the stuff I took off at earlier intervals was a bit racy. I tried bits of the plant each week from about 10 weeks on so I would know when to harvest.

I am not good at describing tastes and smells. It is not a reason for me to grow. Tastes lemon diesel to me if I had to describe it. Certainly isn't unpleasant.

Why do people still buy Soma seeds? I have read nothing but bad reports for years, even back in the cannabisworld/overgrow days there was lots of complaints about germ rate, quality and hermies, and no one rarely get what is advertized, the original nycd release caught alot of heat too

I found three great NYCD keeper phenos in one of E$kobars packs. just amazing grapefruit taste, and one of them has a devastating high. I also found the grapefruit taste in one seed of Dinafems NYCD but the high was bland.
