A field of wild cannabis plants was discovered on city land near a Moscow metro station after apparently being accidentally planted by city authorities themselves, drug control authorities said Thursday.
The Federal Drug Control Service said its agents had to "try out the profession of gardening" to remove at least 230 bushes from the area around the Brateyevo metro station that is currently being built in the south of Moscow, a statement on the agency's site said. Local authorities had filled the area with soil as part of a development project, but instead of grass, cannabis plants sprouted in the area, the statement said. Authorities are currently replacing the soil. An investigation is underway to determine the supplier of the soil and how the seeds came to be there, the agency said. https://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/a...#ixzz1wXbbddET The plants are already in preflower ..... wasted genetics there

Ya cant make this stuff up, haha. "An investigation is underway to determine the supplier of the soil and how the seeds came to be there, the agency said." Had nothing to do with the employees that "have to try out gardening." Sounds like one of em thought, "You want a garden? I'll give you a garden!" Good stuff.

No shit, eh? Exactly what I was thinking. How the hell are they gonna flower those things in a major metro area with billions of lumens constantly bombarding the sky. The I thought of the autoflowers...

it's called hemp and it happens all the time, seeds get in hay bales and soil from nearby feral populations, people are used to the fields of cannabis so they don't waste their time trying to kill millions of harmless weeds. they are then transported far away to where the soil is sold,(where wild hemp is an oddity) and people freak out that there are "pot plants" growing near them. there are 4 foot pot plants all over my town already, i can point out fields that tower well over 10 feet tall in late summer, plants grow up and down every major road and highway in my town and along every ditch...it's actually really hard to grow pot outdoors here without getting pollinated, you have to go deep in the woods, far from any area that used to be farmland, because apparently every field in the midwest was used to grow hemp back in the day...
that is a stock picture used by the newspaper, it's not an actual picture of the plants in the area. also, fyi, the plants in that picture are not pre-fowering, that's about a month into full budding. it's not an "autoflower", just a stock pic of some pot in mid bud, although, hemp does flower much earlier than traditional pot varieties...the hemp would have been fully acclimated to growing in Russia, though it wouldn't be budding till next month anyway...there is nobody out there mixing thousands of lowryder seeds into soil in hopes that some will end up close enough to the surface to survive...what a huge waste of time and money that would be! |

Haha I love this so much! Probably fiber hemp or native Ruderalis though surely?

It could also be some guy with a sense off humor and a surplus of seed.
We and some friends spread around 1000 seeds at a public landside and they survied untill the goverment workers came and cut them down, it was fun tho. |
