What I learned running a Half Million dollar grow....

So as a follow up to the Lab thread....

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=201486

Ive decided to follow it up with a "Things I learned"..... this is a work in progress.....stay tuned.

1. No matter what smellaflage you have going (carbon, uv, ion, deade critters) you CANNOT COVER THE SMELL at harvest, plain and simple....

2. Keeping a place this big clean is a FULL TIME JOB!!

3. Dry trimming makes beautiful buds, Trim machines basically Rape your plants and steal the gland heads from all your trichs.

4. Having the ability to grow a few thousand plants allows for some serious bean testing but keeping up with all the clones and doing 2nd runs on picked females gets to be crazy when your running a 1000+ seeds.

5. Cops are really nice when its all legal. they really like having their pics taken with plants.

6. Landlords are a lot friendlier when they know they are going to get their rent on time. Ive met so many landlords now that want to get rid of current tenants and build out the facilities for larger grow ops.

7. More Light = less stress on plants. Ive become to believe the increased watts per sq ft leads to healthier plants with less issues/stress than low wattage home gardens. If your seeing herms at home frequently, add more light. More lights = less herms..

8. Trimmers are WEIRD....

9. The act of packaging hundreds of pounds of herb by the states guidelines really feels like Manufacturing.

10. it takes me exactly 2 hours to take 200 clones....

11. Price per pound is directly related to manufacture cost. in 2009 lbs were 4400$ wholesale when the market first opened up. 2012 price per pound is hovering around $1600. For that 1600 you can gaurentee its machine trimmed and grown as basicaly as possible.

12. 300g of Bho can get a lot of people high....

13. ALL PPM meters SUCK ass for commercial use. Ive broken ALL of the best ppm meters...shameful..

14. Problems are easier to fix when people are informed about said problem. When a place this size has a issue it involves everyone, one dipshit that fucks somethin gup and keeps it to themselves leads to disaster in a place this size. weekly meeting are a must and 1 person needs to know EVERY move made by the other growers .

Ill keep adding to this. battery is dying

Hire me for a trimmer, I'm fuckin nuts, but at least I'm cheap labour... I'll sleep under the plants, and eat trimminz.

I'd like to hear about your opinion on the different nutrients (systems) and snake oils running something on such a large scale gives little room for error.

Also how is quality product maintained on such a large scale after harvest?
