Closing Last Dispensary In Lake County.
After an abatement hearing on Tues the Lake County board of supervisors voted to close the last dispensary open in unincorporated lake County. Visions of Avatar was ordered to close and remove all signage by May 21st.
Dispensaries seem to be losing their legal ground in much of California. On the other hand operating the mutual benefit co-op seems to be gaining more acceptance. It is an ever evolving industry here and like the saying goes... Be a weed. We are still open and doing the Farmers Market every Saturday. Last edited by justalilrowdy; 05-12-2012 at 05:04 PM.. |

Don't you just love "progressive" California politics...we are truly fudged here.

Great job Lake County, you never fail to crap yourself out of your own house.
We need to get Rob Brown and Anthony Farrington off the board, these people are clearly out for themselves and not for the better of the community |

I thought the Pack decision was set aside and that counties cannot ban dispenaries... Just saying there's nothing that allows it is not enough to ban them. Where are all the lawsuits that were promised against the county? Where is Lake County's Compassion? How many sick people came before the board begging them to keep the dispensaries? They're being ignored, marginalized and stripped of their rights. |

Good Luck with that when the opposition is what it is. We have to have viable candidates for those positions and we don't have that. Some of the growers are glad to have the dispensaries gone. No one here is united but instead always in a big old cat fight with one another. Everyone is divided on measure D as well. Its going to be an interesting year.

Fred Langston is a very good man, he should have run along time ago. Joan Moss is at least a kind and caring person which is more than anyone can say about Rob Brown

I'm very saddened to have been keeping up with this to only find this as their decision. My heart goes out to all the needy patients. At one time I really felt all of the industry could follow Gkg's example and the cannabis world would have been a better place for it. Anyways I wish the Lake County canna community the very best.

Thanks prophet. It was my interpretations of prop 215 and many places have copied my style. The farmers market still continues every Saturday for now. You never know what will come down the road. I started the market in 2006 and I did my best to be fair with people. I have had many dispensary owners contact me to find out just how to do a similar model. It was fun and I met some of the coolest people that I will always remain friends with. We had people come from all over the state to visit and our market still draws people from far and wide. You have to roll with the changes and I know we are light years ahead of the pack... and we have plans to expand.
![]() I hope to see you again soon prophet. |

Every politician has an agenda. Realistically I doubt Joan Moss or Mr Langston have a chance.
