Pack 'o Space Chimp -- a 'crack attack'
I've been drooling over several of d420's offerings, so for a first 'test' I purchased a pack of Space Chimp. All excited about growing these out for some new medicine for patients, and 'cause I've got some Gorilla Grape females (Florida cut) I'd enjoy finding a male with all the 'right stuff'.
Unfortunately, the germ rate has turned out to be MAYBE 45%.  Out of 11 seeds, only 4 have cracked and actually made it above ground. The jury is still out on the 5th bean that cracked -- the taproot has not grown, hence the 'MAYBE' 45% germ rate. After a 9 days waiting on the 5th seed, I think its a no show, which drops the germ rate even lower than 45%. Right along with the Space Chimp, I germinated seeds from 12 other strains, with a typical 99+% germination rate with those. A couple of those 'other' strains are from seed stock that's over 8-10 years old. My grow lab has over 200 thriving seedlings started and growing under the same conditions as SChimp. The Space Chimps that DID crack look fine. But with just 4 of them (@ $25/seed) at this point, its sure not the 11 plants I'd planned on for selection purposes.  Lets hope for a 50/50 female to male ratio at least, eh?

Wow that sucks!
I have a pack of these going to soak this fall. I certainly hope the best for you. I had 100% germ on 2 packs of his other stuff. I'm sure d420 will make it up to you if these whiff out, tho time and schedule are priceless. I can say that I haven't found one bad plant from his stuff - so even if you only find one girl - run her. All appendages crossed for you! -AK

YAY! I got the 5th seed pushed above ground with first leaflets looking green and healthy.
I gave it a light spritzing the last 3 mornings with some 'Roots Organics' root development formula, and perhaps that got the taproot finally going. WhatEVER brought it around... I'm just stoked that I've got 5 sprouted chimps. The other 4 SC seedlings are doing GREAT, and although they are from two different germination dates they've all got one of more sets of true leaves and showing noticeable growth each day.

Only got 3 females out of 11, 1 never popped and 8 males out of my chimps but them the breaks I guess. The girls I did get are well worth it, 1 leaning each way and 3rd yet to flower. Did find 2 really nice males as well. Hoping you get at least a couple girls. good luck
